Nice work, Cru.

does anyone have score or details?

9th Region at NKU

St. Henry......7 3 12 11 33

Boone Co......9 4 13 16 42

St. Henry (20-9) -- Janszen 16, Knaley 12, Fugate 3, Gamm 2, O'Daniel 0.

Boone Co. (28-5) -- Moss 20, Nash 7, Browning 4, Shrout 4, Robertson 3, Jones 2, Switzer 2.

St. Henry held the ball for extended periods of time, one time during the second quarter taking 3 minutes off the clock on a single possession. Boone didn't seem to develop any rythm offensively the entire first half. Moss took over the game in the third quarter by coming out front, taking the ball and simply going one-on-one, scoring 11 of Boone's 13 points in the quarter. Then in the fourth Boone's offensive clicked better and the Lady Rebels got the lead out to around 10 and held it there.

Not the type game I personally enjoy but a good plan by the St. Henry coach

I was trying to look through past threads for any Boone/St Henry predictions. Came across this one, under "9th Region Draw"

"Boone certainly got a favorable draw. Three of the four best teams end up in the same brackett. Boone should be well rested come finals. Hopefully not at the top of the game, since the should be able to sleepwalk to the finals. "

I don't think Boone was expecting that kind of game from the Cru! St Henry coach Brian Coburn coached a great game. Going into the 4th quarter, score was 26 to 22 Boone. This was no pounding over the Cru. St Henry played smart and played tough. They kept it under control--did not let the score get away from them. Until the 4th quarter when Boone worked it out and figured out how to get the ball to the amazing Sydney Moss---who can clearly score a bucket from any distance, any angle.

Congratulations to the Rebels and and to their coach! It goes without saying that she has a fine program at Boone. But did the Rebels "Sleepwalk" to the finals? I think not! The Lady Cru gave them a pretty loud "wake-up" call!

Enjoyed the years of quality ball from this group. Good luck!

Great pics! The one of Nell and Dean is special. Doesn't look like they are celebrating.

Amen to that!

Also want to comment on the officials. It was refreshing to see new faces in the stripes. Overall I thought they did a good and fair job at officiating. But I must comment that one coach clearly "jawed" at the officials more than another coach! In fact, I think that by the end of the first quarter, one coach was chatting it up so much with the ref, that they are probably now FB friends! Hey, you know what they say, "The squeaky wheel gets the oil." Then again--you don't get that many wins by being quiet.

Nice pics, one thing that stands out in the picture of Janszen shooting the three is that she has nice form. She must have some upper body strength, most girls shooting the three hoist it from their shoulder.

Perhaps a little passive-aggressive post?
