You can have all the talent in the world, but if there is no one to coach that talent that team will go home. And where you are playing makes a difference also. One of the reasons some teams have such long winning streaks on their home floor. While I mostly agree with most of your posts on here and I do agree that the players have a lot to do with the outcome of a game, there is much more to it than that.

A coach can only do so much though...it's up to the kids to execute. The coach sees these kids more than anyone else and knows their strengths and weaknesses.

 

As far as the comment earlier about Fookes playing more in this game, he was absolutely lost in the first game between these two so it wouldn't surprise me at all if he didn't see as much playing time.

 

McQueary and his TEAM have their work cut out for them in this rematch. Holmes came out smokin in the first game with a lot of intensity (jumped out 12-4), then got complacent, and Boone goes on a game changing 22-4 run. I can almost guarantee that Booher has his boys ready tomorrow night and they come out with a lot of intensity and play fast.

Colonels are gone. Time to go to my 1(a) Covington team. Looking for big games from Grey and Rice. Holmes and Boone County have played some classic 9th region games in the recent past. This one should be a battle as well. My crystal ball says Holmes by less than 6.

Holmes will need Rice to really step up down low after the way Boone dominated the boards the first time these two met.

 

Hayes and Gray will get theirs regardless. Boone guards don't match up well with them.
