If not for that, they would be average at best. Dixon would still be a very good player, but not having guards that can shoot the ball or another big that handles the ball well to feed her the ball would make her points harder to come by.

Don't forget Walton has had players leave to go elsewhere for whatever reason. Walton's success is directley related to the feeder program that was put into place by coach Sullivan 7-8 years ago.

So Taulbee, Slavey and Sandlin was part of that feeder program? Seems like most that were in that feeder program are no longer on Walton's team. Pretty much the answer I was expecting from a Walton fan. I am sure Sullivan does deserve some of the credit in what he has done to help Walton athletics.

I'm not involved with the WV program but, what role does Coach Luebbe have in the program now? Or, is he just a parent/fan these days.

Does it really matter how Walton became a good team The fact is they are a good team and Dixon is an outstanding player. She is highly deserving of any and all recognition and awards that she has received. It sounds to me like there is quite a bit of jealousy on your part as you continue to beat this "deadhorse."

I think I said Dixon would still be a very good player. Please go back and read my post. She would still be one of the top players in the region.

 

No jealousy. I, along with a lot of people outside Walton's little world just know how they got where they are.

Word is down here he was the head coach at Walton a few years back, then the administration decided to go a different direction. We have heard that he is heavily involved in building the "feeder system" as people at Walton call it, if ya know what I mean.

As for the group of young ladies WV has, ALL, with exception to Dixon and Ginn, have spent the past several years playing summer ball together. Yes, I said all, some even more than 6 years together. Luebbe was not a part of this.

At least one of them played summer ball with WV before they were even eliigble to play for them. Luebbe has been a strong presence in the building of this team and program. He has been able to sell the program and start a chain reaction of transfers. Give credit where credit is do.

Yes they have, but Slavey, Sandlin and Taulbee were not in the Walton school district when they began playing ball for the same team. Call it what you want in Walton's World, but those of us that don't wear the blue shaded glasses know what it is.
