Becca Kidney (Bishop Brossart)

Brooke Mosler (Maysville St. Patrick)

Jessica Mitchell (Deming)

Bailey Menke (Mason County)

Ressa Martin (Nicholas County)

Coach of the Year: Ed Cravens (Campbell County)

Also receiving votes: Scott True (George Rogers Clark), Scott Collins (Pendleton County), Patrick Kelsch (Bracken County), Josh Feldman (Bishop Brossart) and Janie Robinson (Montgomery County)

Ed Cravens deserved the award. I like Brossart's coach but Ed needs the love.

The Honorable Mention Team was revised....(Those who received at least 4 votes from other schools should've been listed. Considering that you can not vote for your own players, then the most that can vote for the player would be 16 different schools.) Here's the correct listing for the Honorable Mention team!

Congratulations to all the girls and Coach Cravens. A special shout out to Lauren Tibbs on a fabulous career. It has been a joy to watch you the last five years.

Wow, Campbell Co. sits at the top of the region with a 20-5 record and they only get one player mentioned and thats a 3rd team.

The last 10 games when they played schools their size they were only 5 and 5. The early part of their season against teams such as Bellevue, Dayton, Calvary and Silver Grove did not help them much.

They are still 11-1 in region play and this is against several of the teams with multiple players mentioned.

Campbell's team is made up of a lot of good players, several of which could be the star of the game any given night. No one has the impressive stats to set them apart from their teammates which is what is usually looked at when choosing all-star teams. This certainly makes them hard to prepare for because any of them could be hot on a given night. Congratulations to Coach Cravens for putting together another solid contender for the regional title.

I wouldn't look into too much, just shows that Campbell may have the best TEAM rather than the best individuals.

This is the vote that is recognized at the banquet. We vote twice in the 10th region -- once is for everyone who is a KABC member and in that vote Coach Cravens and Coach True tied and they are co-coaches of the year. Both will be recongized at the State Tournament.

Does anyone know when the coaches and players are recognized at the state tournament? (W, Th, F or Sat) Pre-game? Between games?

For the girls not sure. Boys is usually at the half or betweeen games. I will try and find out tomorrow at school.

Wish there was a award for Kelsey Carmack, she tried to play a few minutes on the last few games, would be nice to just show her she is a special person to try to get back out on the court as well as the Aherns girl from Bracken County.
