Bugs me too. When I met him it was "Yes Sir", "Thank you, Sir", firm handshake, looked me in the eye. I was very impressed. Very few kids are that mannerable. I never would have suspected he'd be having disciplinary problems.

 

Scott County had a player named Bud Mackey that was also very well mannered, Yes Sir, No Sir everytime you talked to him but now he's in jail on drug, gun, assault, and escape charges. Was a very similar player to Beckham...I sure hope Beckham learns from his lessons. It sounds like he's heading down that similar road tho...

Unless the curriculum is a joke....how does one get passing grades attending 3 separate schools in the same school year? Is it believable that a student can go from school a to b to c within a 4 month period and the schools will be on the same track academically.

He is a heck of a basketball player but I would love to know if he is getting bad advice or if he is just to high on himself. It really is a shame because of he still played for LC they would be an even more dangerous team. I hope for his sake that things get straightened out. I hate to see so much talent possibly be washed away.

Finally, I find it quite ironic that someone would even consider the course load at a Northeast Prep School like St. Benedict's to be a 'joke'. I'd be happy to provide some of the statistics that are publicly available to let everyone determine this for themselves provided that they actually took the time to do a small amount of research for themselves before making comments like these.

I don't disagree that the curriculum at these schools are very challenging. It just sounds crazy that any student could attend four schools in one year, in three different states, and keep up with the schoolwork at each.

I don't mean doing the work once he has arrived there. I'm sure he has no problem with this. I mean keeping up with the curriculum and things that have already been learned thus far in the school year. Schoolwork varies from school to school. Kids are always behind when they change schools in the middle of the year. I can only imagine how tough it would be to keep up at 4 different schools.

I'm already tired of hearing about this kid. Doesn't he have a brother at LC now and where are the parents? If he autographed my team's floor he would definitely meet that floor plenty of times during the game.

You are right Joker. I can speak that LexCath is a quality educational institution having spent MANY dollars on tuition there personally. And my point was probably not phrased very well.. I just wonder how any student could change 3 schools in a year, and whatever classes the student is taking are on the same track, with the student being able to earn appropriate credit to stay eligible for extracurricular activities. Just doesn't seem realistic.
