mcpapa
Before we know it, it will be time for the meat-grinder known as the 7th Region tournament. Papa sees three prime contenders for the title, with a handful of teams waiting in the wings. Feel free to add your comments and observations. 1. Eastern (21-1). The Eagles are reckoned to be the top team in the Commonwealth, and for good reasons - a dominating performance in the LIT not the least of them. Abell and Gaines make for a potent combination. 2. Ballard (21-2). The Bruins like to try to run you out of the gym, and with pretty fair success; everaging over 85 points per game. Only losses on the season have come to region foes Seneca and Eastern; and Devante Parker can be a one-man wrecking crew. Last 3 games on the schedule - Eastern at home, Holmes at home, and at Central. 3. Jeffersontown (18-3). With a healthy Kimbro and Price, look for the Chargers to be very tough to handle down the stretch. J'town needs them. Best of the rest: Seneca, Trinity, Moore, Fern Creek. How do the districs line up? Is there a chance some good teams get left out of the regional?
loubballfan
How do the districs line up? Is there a chance some good teams get left out of the regional? Ballard vs Trinty in first round of District so one top ten team won't even make it to regional.
mcpapa
Ballard vs Trinty in first round of District so one top ten team won't even make it to regional. Such is life in the 7th. As someone already said, a tougher field than the Sweet 16.
Orca1
What is the status of J-town's Price? Heard a crazy rumor that Pitino has asked Morrow to shut him down for the rest of the season because of injury. Anybody know anything?
Cover Corner
If Price is good at J-town I would make them the # 2 team behind Eastern. Ballard would be 3rd. JMO
gold sunrise
Eastern just lost to Tates Creek....Eastern may not win the 7th???
JokersWild24
I wouldn't count Ballard out. To me, they're #1 a,b, or c with Eastern and J-town. Each team has some things they would have to overcome, but I think any one of those three are just as capable as the other two, albeit for different reasons.
