Need Help: Covington Catholic Gym

Featured Replies

A buddy and I are planning to go to the Covington Catholic/Holy Cross game on Friday night. We've always heard it's a great place to go, so we're making this trip. First question: is the gym at the school? Second, any recommendations, suggestions, etc.? Should I eat beforehand or is there a good concession stand? What time should I arrive? Thanks for all help in advance!

You will have no problem getting in right at game time.

The gym is at the school. 75 north to the Kyles Lane exit. Left off the exit. Right onto Dixie Highway. School on your left past the church.

I'd eat beforehand. If you want to do the Cincinnati chili thing there is a Skyline on Dixie after you turn left.

Thanks Clyde. Not a huge chili guy, but are there other foods at the exit or another nearby exit coming north from Lexington?

There is a BDubs nearby as well on Madison Pike, if everyone is over 21 then maybe try Dickmann's sports cafe', Great wings! It's off the same exit but about a mile down the hill to the right. Also a Frisch's right at the exit.

There is a Frisch's Big Boy on the corner of Kyles and Dixie.

If you turn right off of the exit and go down the hill (stay right at the Firehouse) you will see the BDub's that SG mentioned. It's a wings place that is good.

Ft. Wright restaurant has some good eats.

Herb & Thelma's right down Dixie Hwy on the left, a little taste of Americana.

If you go thru Florence, stop and eat at Izzy's.

Buttermilk Pike two exits before Kyles Lane has several restaurants Outback, Montgomery Inn, Bonefish, Chipoltle, most fast foods, and others. You won't have any trouble finding someplace to eat in any price range.

I've heard they have one of the best burgers around. Seems like parking could be an issue.

Greyhound Tavern which is about 2 1/2 -3 miles south of the HS on Dixie HWY. Fried chicken, onion rings, KY Brown all very good. :)

41017. This is one of my favorite places to eat too. Gchs uk9, if you go here make sure to set in the bar area. The bar b q and fish sandwiches are awesome.....you won't go wrong with this place.

I'd recommend arriving early. They play Holy Cross - big rivalry! I wouldn't want to miss it! If you arrive by 6:45 you should be fine.
