Beechwood 2011 Football Schedule

Featured Replies

I heard that the 2011 Beechwood football schedule was announced yesterday at their banquet. Can anyone post it on here? I'm curious.

I also heard that Coach Rash announced that Beechwood would be starting a middle school program through NKYFL. What would that do for them that the Spartans are not already doing? Does Beechwood get to put their own coaches in place? Will they be running their own offense? I'm just curious how this benefits them more than what the Spartans have done. It just seems like a change of colors from green/white to red/white to me.

I do not know the schedule, but I think a middle school football team is a great idea. I think Cov. Cath's program has been quite successful. Wearing the red and white at a younger age will get the Tiger spirit going earlier, encouraging kids to stay with the program. It will also give coaches the opportunity to develop the talents of kids who will be playing at Beechwood. The Spartans had kids from a variety of schools. I personally was not a fan of the Spartans. My son was on a team with 50 kids, and they always played same 15 or so boys every game, no matter how much they were winning by. as you can imagine, my son was not one of them.

I am wondering how they plan to finance the program.

From what I understand if Beechwood is going thru the NKYFL to sponsor this age group the NKYFL will help fund this program I talked to several NKYFL board members and it still needs to be voted on by the board to see how much they plan on supporting. From what I have heard it is enough to start a program in equipment and uniforms. I wish Beechwood the best of Luck in doing this. JD

You got to win, man! Forget about the boys! Forget about teaching them to love the game! Let's not worry about if little Johnny grows up to be 6'2" 210 Junior, he is to small to play now. We need to win the super bowl...win, win, win! Dontcha get it man, I have to be in the NKYFL Hall of Fame some day! I have to win the super bowl so that everyone thinks I'm a good coach!

I can't remember the exact order:

Scrimmages: Conner and "TBD" (not Boone)

1) Opening up against SK (possibly at Thomas Moore) in the Skyline games

2) Holmes

3) Dixie

4) CovCath

5) @Elizabethtown

6) Holy Cross

7) dist

8) dist

9) dist

10) NewCath

Lol, so true Govnah! My son did end up being one of those 6'2" boys who started for Beechwood. He learned to love the game there, definitely not as a Spartan. That is why I think a middle school program will be great for the boys at Beechwood. I wonder what will happen to the Spartan program with Beechwood and Cov. Cath having their own.

Boy did you NAIL that one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is about Beechwood Football Schedule not NKYFL bashing. I do agree there are several coaches that think win and are not about the kids. The NKYFL just started the Hall of Fame 2 years ago and this has been going on for more years than that. I agree it should always be about the kids at that age. JD

Having leagues like that is a big advantage over the Beechies competition out in the state from places like Raceland, Hazard and Mayfield

Schedule is nice, only 1 travel trip to Etown until you head out into the wild wild west provided Mayfield can manage to win out

Then drop it! Your last post had 1 sentence about Beechwood and 3 about the NKYFL! Must have hit close to home!

Anyone know the order of Beechwood Schedule?

What do you mean?

What do you mean?

TP is making an attempt to highjack this thread and get MF into the discussion...

Come on TP...take your trophy and go back to fireplace and cozy-up. We're sorry to bring you out of hibernation by starting a BW thread :)

As a Brossart parent.....does the Beechwood administration want to switch districts with us and play 2A? If you do so at least you wouldn't have to play Mayfield anymore!
