I Heard Beechwood got a transfer from Woodford County?

Is that ligit or can we assume 6'2" 220? (which is still nice size). Did he start last year for Woodford? They were kind of down last year, weren't they? I just hope he isn't 6'4" 260 and soft.

I've seen this young man, He is Every BIT of 6'4 260!

He's working out with the FB team now and I was told he is definitely 6'4" 260+ (he's a junior) and an athlete. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Seems like everyone is getting their needs filled via transfers this offseason. We were fortunate in having a qb land in Mayfield from Georgia and I have to admit the timing could not have been better with the graduation of Luke Guhy

I agree! need a LB and out pops one from Arkansas and need a QB out pops one from GA...whew, that's some awesome luck. Congrat's!

 

Since I am unfamiliar with the MF area...what type of industry is there that would entice families to move in from various states? I'm from a more rural area than MF and it was very rare to have families move in. Even you constantly toss out the "oh me oh my poor little broke community" all the time which we don't buy into by the way

So, now that Beechwood found a center. One has to assume that the left side of the line will remain Flannery and Eyckmans; since they were starters last year.

Who will be the right guard and tackle? Williams and Greenweller?

Will they move Lawless back to offense?

Will they move Bradley back to offense (I doubt that)?

Will they move Brilz back to the line after making him a tight end at the end of the season?

Are there any Sophomores or Juniors ready to start(as many seniors as they have, I kind of doubt it)?

Too early to tell on all the above, including the new player from Woodford. Let's see who works hard, is dedicated and who really wants to EARN playing time and positions. At Beechwood, a lot of work happens between now and the start of practice in the summer. Some players decide they don't want to work hard enough to earn their position. Last year, 5 or 6 seniors that were expected to play didn't. The players that are dedicated and will do the work will be there and get the playing time they earn.

 

But, since this site is mostly speculation by people (like me) who know about 1/4 at best of what the coaches know, I will make the following guesses:

 

Eyckmans will start at tackle.

Flannery has the edge at starting at guard but will have to battle to keep that position.

Center totally up in the air with the most likely possibilities being the new kid, Williams or Brilz.

Right side of line will be earned by those who work the hardest with several good candidates.

Lawless and Bradley will most likely stay on defense.

Brilz will most likely be playing somewhere on the offensive line IMO.

Although the sophomore class has good numbers and talent, I don't see anyone getting playing time outside of special teams.

Juniors - obviously Nussbaum and Erdman will start. Lightner has a chance to get some time. Middleton will likely get time where they need a big body. The rest are working hard and there is talent there, but they likely need some JV time this year to get needed experience they missed out on last year with no JV.

TP ... I don't mind you sharing info on a Beechwood thread. Feel free to drop a tidbit like this one in. I like hearing that you guys are picking up players. You lost a lot from last year. I know it may sound crazy after losing to you the last two years, but my biggest fear this year is that Mayfield won't be there in the state semifinals when we get there. It seems every time Beechwood has a really strong team, Mayfield somehow gets beat before we can face them. I know Beechwood is going to be strong this year and I think everyone in Tigerland really wants to face the Cardinals with this coming year's team.

We will do our best. I honestly think that Beechwood could possibly have 18-22 starters wither very vew going both ways.

Thanks Voice, Crunch obviously feels I should mind my own business so I will refrain from comming on here again to try and satisify Mr Crunch though I was making a point that was somewhat related.

 

I would feel exactly the same if I was a Beechwoodian, Beechwood will likely be the Cards staunchest supporters until they meet or get a L. With the pride and tradition of Beechwood that is matched by few I just cant imagine anyone feeling any different. I just hope we can make it that far next year and if we are that fortunate I just hope we dont get humiliated.

His father was selected to lead a flock from here. We have a new preacher. I guess what I should say it that it was "Divine Intervention". Obviously, Bw will have little to fear from us as you all return several and have a new super lineman to shore up what has been a glaring problem the last couple of years and your playing a schedule that I guess only 1 or 2 other 1A teams would dare try. If you like I will refrain from posting on any future Bw threads
