These are not your older brother's Royals. Coming into the season with no defined bench, no Pawsat and not facing the easiest schedule in the world.

 

Dunbar will be a challenge, but if they manage to win that game, they will finish this brutal stretch of 12 road games 7-5 and 3 of those losses being 1 possession games in the 4th quarter. The Royals did come back to cut the Princeton lead down to 5, but I'm not even including that one.

 

It's worth repeating if anyone doesn't know, it's been over 60 years since a 10th Region team won 4 straight region titles.

 

 

As I've already mentioned, lots of squads will play with Mason County this season that haven't in the past (although to their credit, Campbell won this one last year at the Fieldhouse). For the reasons HC has mentioned.

 

Still nice to see the Royals pull this one out on the road.

A win is a win and I got my poor little computer fixed just in time to listen online for the final 2:30 of the game and good teams find ways to win and Mason did just that. What Mason misses most of all from Pawsat not being in the lineup is his presence and leadership on the court. If that piece of the puzzle gets back, look out. Pawsat returns, opens more looks for Gilbert and Black and that will balance the scoring more out and teams will have to pick and choose I do believe.

Yes, it could be later than that though depending on how everything goes with his injury.

The update before the season started was that he could start some jogging first part of January and is expected back at the end of this month, first part of February. No surprise that when he came back last year the Royals ran off 12 in a row I think before they lost Saturday morning at Rupp.

Anyone know if the one game linebacker experiment has kept colleges away from him as a QB? Sure hope not, he was D1 material at one time. Good size,arm and fine young man to boot.
