Some of the folks trying to run this event aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, so this wouldn't shock me. :popcorn:

 

Don't know about the IQ of the organizers but what I want to know is where were the fans? I will bet you there weren't 300 people in the stands and that may be stretching it some. This was my first chance to visit that venue and I was very impressed with it. The organizers can't put this type event on very often with no fan support. Where were the Dixie students to watch the #1 ranked team in No. Ky.? It looked like nothing but parents there and not a lot of them.

Not much appeal to Dixie vs Colerain. The Aiken/Holmes game now had some nice appeal with the athletes it brought to the floor. JMO

 

You gotta match up the best teams in NKY with the best teams in Cincinnati....Period. IF you want to get the fans out.

Although I miss the entertaining Holmes team of the last four years, the new version under their new coach was a breath of fresh air.

Needs to work on his defense as he does a lot of reaching which gets him in foul trouble, but he's solid offensively. Only weakness I really saw was a lack of an outside shot. A team will take a chance on him because of his athleticism and strength alone.

 

Let's not forget he's also only a soph, GT.

 

What did you think of Tyonte Robertson? The Frosh that started for Aiken. Ellison told me that he's getting some pretty good looks and already has a few offers from some smaller D1 programs.

 

Grimes is a 6'3" PF who is already filling out which is almost always a good indicator that a kid is done getting taller. I'm not saying he can't be a high major, simply that he has a LONG way to go to get there. He'll get a D1 shot as long as his grades are in order, but the chance it's at a high major is small at this point.

 

Haven't seen enough of Roberson yet to know where he is at...

This all goes back to the IQ of the organizers. Not sure what genius looked at the schedule this summer and decided, "Yeah, this field will attract a lot of people from all over the Tri-State."

 

I said when the field was announced attendance would be dreadful. I'm not really sure why anybody thought otherwise, or why this surprises anyone.
