Simon Kenton @ Walton-Verona

Featured Replies

Well now, how about another round of hot-topic predictions for thiis district rival affair Friday night at W-V against Simon Kenton? Who is willing to walk the plank, go out on a limb, etc. for this one? My prediction is no prediction at all, in that after watching them play twice last year, I believe this game will be a nail-biter and an entertaining contest for all fans.

I don't know too much about the ladies from SK but I have a hunch they may have an advantage in the back court but what do they have in the paint?

If Walton's guards handle the pressure like they did against Boone, it will be a long night.

If I am not mistaken, Walton Verona plays a pretty good Owen County team on Monday night. I wouldn't think they would be overlooking the Lady Rebels.

I agree Mr. A. If Walton is overlooking Owen County, then it could be a long night and week for the Walton bunch.

I think the girls right the ship this week and get the win.

This will be a very close game. SK has returning player of the year in Wainscott. Wainscott is a very solid player, she plays with as much confidence as any high school player I have ever seen, she see's the floor well, has the basketball IQ of a coach, and is a floor general. As usual WV guard play will be the difference in this game, if they reduce turnovers they will win. WV has much more talent from top to bottom and should come out with the win. With less talent than usual for SK, this year will tell how good of a coach SK has in Stowers (my guess is very good). If SK wins this game it will be because of coaching.

You are right. Did they cancel this game or something? I think that one will be too close to call.

SK wins this one. Fact is last year is the first time Walton has beat us in several years. Coach Stowers has the players ready to go. Wainscott, Owens & Stephenson will be too much for Walton. SK wins by 7.

Tough one to call in this one. SK will come to play. The BIG question in this one is guard play with WV having 33 TO in the first game and 20 TO in the second game can the guards handle the pressure that SK is going to bring. If they can our bigs will have a field day down low but we have to be able to get them the ball.

Great analysis!! I think your right on. Walton improved when Taulbee was handling the ball out front and she had some very nice feeds to the bigs. She also can get north south off the dribble which I thought helped the bigs because of the help defense she drew. If Walton goes back to the same East West offense then I think even though they are probably more talented overall Simon's guards will eat them up in the half court defense and it may be tough for Walton to overcome. Just a opinion.
