Mulligan or Clinkenbeard would both do a good job at the point if given the opportunity. Not taking anything away from Hoffa, she rebounds and plays very hard. I just don't think she is a point guard. I think Hoffa would more productive in positions on the floor.

Coaching at this level is tricky, Walton will roll and fans will appreciate this team as the season progresses. Walton won't be the only team to lose to Boone this year. What someone should question is why schedule that power house so early in the season.

They both started and neither one scored.

Boone's defense must have been very good to hold both of them scoreless. I had heard Taulbee was going to give Walton some much needed guard play and that Judy was healthy and had really improved over the summer.

It was! I watched Taulbee in warm-ups hit 10 straight from 3, some from NBA range. BUT....................that's against no defenders. Many girls in high school are really good stand-still shooters (and Taulbee is obviously very good) but have difficulty if moving and trying to hit that same shot. But fact is W-V got very few open looks against Boone's man to man. Annie Browning was on Taulbee much of the time and she is an underrated (IMO of course) defender. Annie moves her feet well, is quick and aggressive, and generally gives most guards looking to shoot the standstill shot fits.

Totally agree with you. Coach Miller needs to make line-up changes or he and this team will lose a lot of games because of horrible ball handling and passing. Plus, not to mention that Walton had 4 starters with a total of 2 points. Time to make changes because there is no way you can play 4 players who give you nothing on offense and are a liability on the defense side.

I agree but the best point guard they had is no longer on the team. The only option is probably going to bring Taulbee or Clinkenbeard to the point or hope that the younger guard I'm not sure of her name can grow up fast. This team should of learned from last year and not came into this year with the exact same weakness. It should have been no surprise to anyone when the point lead your team in turnovers last year.
