Final

Don't have any stat info, but the person who updated the score on Twitter did post the quarter scores.

25-8 Ballard end of 1st

40-22 Ballard at half

57-41 Ballard end of 3rd

Both of these teams are going to be really good. Scott Co. was the best team at the AAU this summer.

Wow...Ballard must be a lot better than some (myself included) were thinking. I take it Devante Parker is playing? I had heard he was going to focus on football this winter.

I saw Scott Co over the summer and they looked really good with Manning, Ivey, Shotwell, Richardon, and the Harris boys.

Nice win for the Bruins to start the season.

What happened to the Cards? It appears they got worked.

Coach Hicks always starts the season off with a tough game to guage the playing level of his team. Even though they loss it looks like they never gave up and battled back with a 32-204th quarter. This will be a good measuring stick for the Scott County Cardinals who, by in large, have players without much varsity experience.

If I remember the article in the paper today correctly, Parker had about 14 points and 14 boards.

Didn't Shotwell, Barber, Ivey, and Richardson all see time off the bench last year?

I agree they may not have much varsity experience, but they are still a very talented group.

Parker is a great athlete and will really help Ballard this year.

Barber was hurt for much of the season. I know Ivey is well-regarded and I was impressed by Shotwell at the state tournament.

Thanks. I guess I was kind of trying to get to the point of Scott Co not being as inexperienced as one poster stated.

They certainly have enough material to be a top-20 team, if not better.

Scott Co and Ballard are both top 10 teams, IMO.

Parker is going to be very tough to stop for Ballard this year and Scott Co has a very good starting 5 and some good depth with the Harris boys and Relford.

Richardson saw only blowout minutes last year.

But, I do agree that Scott County should have more experience that Ballard, who started two freshman and had a sophomore as the 6th man. From what I heard, these 3 kids also started JV. Ballard must be looking to get them as much as experience as possible, but all 3 (Snider, Martin and Lewis) are very talented.

Dont wanna hear any excuses about experience, 59 of the 77 points Ballard scored were by two frosh (Snyder & Martin) and two sophs (Lewis & Holland). That is the most impressive stat.

Quentin Snider scored 27 points to lead visiting Ballard, which is No. 10 in The Courier-Journal's preseason coaches' poll.

The Bruins led 33-8 in the second quarter, and held the No. 6 Cardinals to 22.6 percent first-half shooting en route to a 40-22 lead.

Devante Parker had 13 points, 14 rebounds and four blocked shots for the winners.
