The # 3 & 4 teams in the state square off in the Mr. Basketball Classic this Friday at Tates Creek. Christian Co will be without I know Hickey, due to the football playoffs, and GRC could be without Robbie Stenzel due to an injury in the J-Town scrimmage. Your thoughts and predictions on this game.

GRC's schedule is loaded this year, very brutal. We could face Christian Co again in the Toyota Classic.

 

I agree a great game to open the season, # 3 & 4 in the state. Hopefully I will find out the status of Robbie Stenzel tomorrow at school.

Clark again has the best talent in the state palyers 1-7 but they gotta win the 10th first.

Christian County will struggle untill football is over. GRC wins this one easy.

Without Hickey, GRC wins, but it will not be easy.

They didn't look as sharp on Saturday (without Stenzel) as they did last Friday Night.

 

Hoping that he will get cleared to play for this weekend's games. Would love to see Hickey play for Christian Co, but understand he will be busy.

Christian Co will be without their starting pg, Hickey, and one of their bigger forwards, Tandy (6'4, 6'5), who are both getting ready for the state title game against Highlands.

 

Without two starters, I look for the Cards to win this one by double digits.

 

Look for Lewis and Kates to do the majority of the work for CC.

 

Daniels, Zollo, Purvis, and Rogers should have their way down low. Whoever is matched up with Kates, however, will have their hands full. At 6'6-6'7, he is a very good athlete that can play both inside and outside.

He landed hard during last Friday's scrimmage at GRC and hit his head. He left the game and did not return. Minor concussion that kept his out of the Fast Lane Classic at Sheldon Clark on Saturday. Had not heard an update as of this morning.

 

I am expecting him back for Friday's game. They looked great on Friday night with him, but not near as good on Saturday.

Talked to Robbie today at school, he had just got back from the Dr. He is cleared for shooting around till Wed, then if all goes well, he can start practice and should be able to play on Friday.

 

These two teams could meet up again in the Toyota Classic and both be at full strenght.

Would love to see this game with both teams fully healthy.

 

As stated before, Christian Co will be without Tandy and Hickey. Hickey is rated the third best player in the state and Tandy is a guy that started last year so his experience will be missed. Lewis and Kates can only do so much.
