I'm sure Fairview, much like Nicholas county will be favored. However, this Jacket team seems to rise to the occasion. I felt the Williamsburg Nicholas game was going to be a tight one and was greatly surprised that the Burg routed the Blue Jackets. The jackets d led by Root, Perkins, and Hoffman is playing hard and I expect a close game this week.

I think that this could be an interesting game I will take Fairview.

Fairview has the size and talent to cause problems for Williamsburg.

Talent level is an edge for Fairview along with Line play.

I think Williamsburg will score some points on this team, but IMO the Jackets fade late.

There's a very good chance Fairview blows this team out of the water. Everyone of my posts have been on Williamsburg's side because I always love the underdog. This week im just not so sure on how Williamsburg will play. If J.P. Payne doesnt have a good game I dont think the Burg has a chance. Last Year Fairview knocked Williamsburg out of the playoffs and for Williamsburg fans and cnc78 your Jackets are going to have to play a near perfect game for that not to happen again.

I predict Fairview in this game, even though the score was closer between us and FHS than Williamsburg. I feel that Fairview's offense is much too powerful for Williamsburgs defense, at times when we were clicking we moved the ball very well; But when you have 4 turnovers that become scores for the other team it's hard to get any kind of offense going. I honestly think that the key factor on offense will be Fairview's #44, he's big and physical and may cause alot of problems this week. Williamsburg better lace em up tight! Where Williamsburg killed us was on the passing game, although their QB was pretty inaccurate he came through when they needed him. Fairview's secondary knows how to play football and will rattle the Williamsburg QB.

I will agree that Fairview is probably more athletic. But, with that being said Williamsburg rarely "out atheletes" anyone they play. Coach Herron instills a belief in these kids that truly is amazing. At times he has them beleiving no mountain is too high. I am amazed at the job his staff does year in and year out. Not quite ready to predict on this one, I'll just say so far Williamsburg has made us proud and I expect they will again this week.

I agree with you cnc78 Coach Herron does such a great job with these boys. They might not be the biggest, the fastest or the strongest, but they have really impressed me this year. I am very proud of the Yellow Jackets and think if they play like they know they can Williamsburg can come away with a victory against Fairview. Let's go Jackets!

Although Payne has had a great season, Williamsburg is not a one trick pony. You can't rule out the speed of Lowrie, the big play ability of Hoffman, the tough running of Thomas, and now healthy CJ Jones with his length, and Ethan Powers with his quickness. Also Hamlin seems to always figure out a way to make a play at QB. Does Williamsburg have the weapons Fairview has? Maybe not, but I do feel the Jackets can compete. The Jacket d was tough against Nicholas, except for a couple blown coverages. Nicholas had a chance to get back in the game but the d led by Root, Brown, and Perkins shut any thoughts of a comeback down. Like everyone else I would guess Fairview to be the favorite, but I'm hoping the Jackets can stick around and make a game of it.

Good luck to Fairview they have great program, coaches, and school. They are a program on the rise over last 10 years winning many football games.

 

I think I could coach fairview and win eight games a year with the schedule they play!! Seven of the teams they play year after year wouldn't total eight wins!! Ashland is in their backyard. Russell is right down the road. Lawrence Co is right down US 23. No doubt this year for fairview standards they have a very good team. They have played one good team this year. And you see what happened!! LCA destroyed them! What is it? They have played two teams this year with winning records. One was Raceland and they struggled to do that. Of course it wasn't a fairview schedule!!! Fairview will or should win this friday. Williamsburg and the district they play in is down this year. Have a safe trip eagles.

No disrespect intended from me but you have to admit there are very few quality wins on their schedule. How many wins over Raceland and LCA since 2003? I think the answer is 2. All anyone is trying to say is 8-3 or 9-3 means nothing when the wins are gimmies. I don't think you have to overload the schedule but Bracken, Boyd and the Carter schools don't hold water to Ashland, Russell and Lawrence.

Now also don't get me wrong, you guys have a great team this year but it has to be consistent and against halfway decent opponents, year in and year out. You could have not practiced and won 7 games on your schedule this year. Is that what you really want?
