Great article I hope Carroll county reads it. Strength of schedule is important in preparing for playoffs. Carroll needs to keep the De sales and Cal on their schedule and drop the teams that only allow you to pad tour record.

Well redsfan I read it. I have to agree with the article stating that we had 3-4 mistakes that impacted our game. The blocked punt, turnover, interception and HC fumble that they got back. However, should you have the solution from the blue seats or hunter’s ridge then shut it. When you put in as much time as the coaching staff puts in (year round) then you and every other arm chair QB in the stands or reading the paper the next day then you can have an opinion. On the schedule issue that you have pointed out. What’s the difference when the basketball and baseball teams play the same teams and lose to them? What’s your explanation then? Also, let’s talk about how basketball and your beloved baseball team plays those same schools 3-4 times in the regular season then again in districts. If you win you tout how great your team/season is. So what's the difference? what will be you issue next year when all of these teams on our schedule will be moving to 2A next year and in our district. So if we play all CAL, Desails type teams all 10 games next season and the seasons after that and end up 1-9 or 0-10 what’s our chances of fielding enough kids to even have a team the years to follow. How productive is that for the program, school or community. How about you and everyone else like you stay in your cul-de-sac with your inexperienced opinions and let the coaches put in all the work to make our program, school and community something to be proud of.

PS: Shoud you be able to come up with some resources so we can get some of those players to come to our schools like the private schools do then let us know.

Just curious what "resources" an innercity small school that doesn't even have its own field (other than a crappy practice field that floods) might have? I am not parent , student or alum. I know nothing about Carroll County or its schedule . it doesn't matter to my point. All private schools do not have the resources a few of the larger ones do. Please do not make generalizations. Sorry it is a sore spot after I watched the three high schools in my district just put in new turf complexes on my tax payer dime.

Get coach don't take it personal fact is fact I said nothings about coaching staff. I think all the sports should play a tougher schedule and since my kids have been involved in all of the sports I will voice my opinion from hunters the stands or where ever I wish. Bottom line is you don't get better by playing a weak schedule. That is obvious, look at our track record in playoff games. I won't get into the baseball cause that speaks for itself. I want what is best for ALL OUR PROGRAMS as well as the community and until we are tired of being average things won't change.

I'm guessing you are referring to all Carroll County athletics reds fan? Being that the football program has the hardest schedule in the entire school. I also don't understand your logic. Take Holy Cross for example, they beat the schools they were supposed to and with the exception of Beechwood got whipped by the ones they were supposed to. However in the end they will only play 1 more week than Carroll. So I hope they enjoy that win against Carroll because according to your logic they will take 4 whippings for the sake of beating Carroll County, because Holy Cross's season ends next week. I don't want to argue on an ammature website, but disagree with you on this one.

HC had to play elsewhere last night because Holmes had a home game. I heard that to play at Scott last night, it cost HC $1000. I guess that's a standard fee for using someone else's field, but still, when you also have to also pay for the new fields through taxes.....hmmm. Honestly, the new Scott facility is beautiful...HC won two games in a row on it...but it would sure be nice to have a stadium with Field Turf and an Indians logo at midfield. But as a private inner city school, that is quite a few fundraisers away. Rightfully so, HC's priorities have been to direct as much money as possible to scholarships instead of fancy facilities to allow students the opportunity for private Catholic education. It's a tradeoff Holy Cross understands going in and just deals with it. NCC understands it and so does Brossart. You do the best with what you have and you are grateful for the support of your benefactors. You get a mixture of underpaid teachers who want to coach and a whole bunch of volunteers, teach some young men how to tackle and conduct themselves, and you go play football.

And as far as the inexperience give me a break I played and coached in as many if not more than you. I actually thought maybe you would relate to the scheduling of tough teams . Maybe if we did teams would refer to is as competitors rather than stepping stones. Like I said don't take it personal I respect the work coaches put in. So don't go down that road,it's as simple as playing tougher teams.
