"This is one I would like to have back," Carroll coach Mike Weedman said. "They're a good team, but I've got to be honest with you, they're not that good. I felt like we dominated the line of scrimmage. The four mistakes we made are what cost us. I'm not an arrogant guy and I try to be humble, but we dominated the game."

 

"Field position really hurt us tonight," Weedman said. "That certainly was an issue. But I really thought we did a good job of running the ball and there were several times where we really stuck it to them inside."

 

Despite the lopsided loss, there was plenty to like in 2010 for Carroll County. The Panthers graduate 14 seniors, but return stalwarts such as Butcher and Downs and Weedman expects his team to be even better next season.

 

"I don't think our underclassmen truly appreciate what these seniors have accomplished," Weedman said. "When they were freshmen, they were 2-9 and we knew we had a long road ahead of us. But we toughened them up and they have accomplished a lot. Now, I fully expect us to win a district championship next year."

HC scored at will and took many of their starters out early in the third quarter. For a team down 34 at half they really dominated.:rolleyes:If these teams played 10 times HC wins 10 of them.

I wasn't at this game. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go to any game last night. We should have been a 2 seed last night and instead were a no seed. That was of our own making and I won't put any blame anywhere else.

 

What is there to make enemies about? I posted an article found online with some comments that I found interesting. I didn't make any accusations or offer any opinions beyond what I found to be interesting.

 

We had a couple of games this year that we "dominated" most statistics except for the ones that counted - the points, though only by a TD or less. I am curious how CC dominated this game and lost by such a large margin. However, if asking a question about what a coach's comments meant are trying to pick a fight, then maybe some of us are a bit to sensitive.

Always harping on the playing schedule/strength is a knock at the staff. There are games we have to play and games we go after. Now with the redistricting all the local schools are playing each other as district foe's as it should be. While the ultimate goal is a title run getting severely beat and a losing record year after year does nothing for moral or brining kids out. We have to have numbers in football. It's not like basketball or baseball where you can have just a couple dominating and good players to lead the team. A good running back or receiver can't do anything without the o-line giving the QB time to connect with the receiver or make holes from the RB to hit. Schools have to take stepping stones to get to that level. Should you have the solution to the scheduling issue then please enlighten everyone, but you can't come back and post negative comments and ridicule when numbers drop, kids are beat up, tired, negative, losing record and want to throw the towel in. Continuing to post about what we need to do or how to do it doesn’t do anything to improve anything. While I agree I probably can't compare years coaching experience as I'm just getting started and the other I don't have to argue about!

I guess that this post, and the lack of any real substance of the game, tell me all that I really need to know about the game.

Great article I hope Carroll county reads it. Strength of schedule is important in preparing for playoffs. Carroll needs to keep the De sales and Cal on their schedule and drop the teams that only allow you to pad tour record.

 

I agree! Maybe it wasn't a good idea in the past, but now they should think about adding a little beef to their schedule.

 

I don't find TB&G's comments as a wanting to make enemies or having issues with this team, I agree with TB&G, the comments by the coach makes it seem like it was a close game if you didn't know the score, but losing 55-17 with is being 34-0 at the half and the losing team "dominated"?
