Steelers Harrison fined......again

Why is the fine "silly"? (Your words, not mine.)

20K is silly. Stupid, retarded, goofy. Whatever. You guys can cry about his salary all you want, but that's a huge fine for a hit that wasn't nearly as bad as you all portray it.

Let the barrage begin on how he's dirty, he's childish, he needs to learn how to tackle. Bottom line is there are hits like this all day on Sunday. Now the rule seems to be facemask when initially it was crown of the helmet. Please!!!!

He shouldn't have hit him at all. That's why it was dirty. He deserved the fine. He's been labeled as a dirty player and this falls right in line with that.

That hit was way late and dirty...as have most of his this year. Any sensible person could admit that.

It was late and drew a flag. Not sure anyone said it wasn't late. Sensible enough?

So why do you have a problem with the fine?

I have a problem with a 20K fine for that hit, that's all I'm saying. Good grief how is that not clear?

Funny how the only 2 people that disagree are Steelers fans.

My question is then....if not a fine, what does the NFL do to get repeat offenders of dirty and late hits to stop? I think they should be suspended and lose a game check. I'm certain MOST of their game checks are more than 20k.

It's not that funny! :D

I watched today Ngata or whatever his name is for the Ravens spear the Dolphins QB. He was flagged for it and I wonder if there will be a fine. We'll see if there is any continuity to this junk.

To be fair, is he a repeat offender? There has already been continuity though. Merriweather and Robinson were already fined. It wont end. Goodell is very powerful and runs his league much different than the other commissioners.

He led with the crown of his helmet. Doesn't matter if it's his first game. Again, I think that a committee should be deciding these issues.

Goodell doesn't levy the fines.

Merton Hanks does.

The rules are still evolving. It may end up like the NBA, a certain amount of technicals results in a suspension. I wonder if Kurt Coleman will get suspended for the hit on Collie. It was a football hit but it was helmet to helmet, tough to decide.
