November 5, 201015 yr It was a cheap shot on Brees. Fines are TAX deductable, it's almost an incentive for players to get them when you make as much as they do.
November 5, 201015 yr Author I don't know what is a complete joke Spindoc? I have no problem with the fine, but 20,000 dollars? Come on, that's silly. I agree that there should be a panel of players both past and present in accord with league officials to get this crap under control, one way or another.

He recently signed a 6 year, $51.125 million deal, including a $10 million signing bonus (money up front).

November 5, 201015 yr He for one deserves it. Very dirty player who refuses to follow the rules. No sympathy from me on him. Troy P is right IMO. There needs to be a committee of some sort. Not sure about current players though. Merton Hanks himself isn't enough.

November 6, 201015 yr I think a panel and not just one guy should be in charge. I'd agree that there should be more than one individual in charge of assessing the fines. With that said, I think $20,000 is a very, very fair fine. If anything, it is not enough. Harrison has already been fined $75,000 and that did not deter him. As a repeat offender, he's lucky that it wasn't much more than $20,000.

November 6, 201015 yr We will use $30,000 for the sake of the numbers.... 30,000/30= $1 for every $1,000 earned 30,000/60= $1 for every $500 earned 9,000,000/20,000= $1 for every $450 earned His is under 9 Mil but just for Maths sake I rounded up. My bad $60 or $70 I should have said, really hits him the gut hard.
