Does this guy watch any 9th region basketball at all?? :confused:

My question exactly Mr. Walter.

I stated in another thread that the writer for the 13th and 14 th region polled the coaches and used that as his top 10 team, not his opinion.

D'Vontae Bradley has never been known as a "basketball star" but yet this poll has him #7.

 

I also wouldn't have Jake Burger in the top 10 or Brady Hightchew. I'd take guys like Matt Trammel of Dixie or Jake Flesch over those two all day every day.

 

And Brandon Hatton is a very nice player for a frosh, but third best in the region? I don't think so.

This goes for other regions too especially the player rankings.

I agree. The top 10 player list is laughable. No Travis Montgomery? Conner and Boone are ranked 1 and 2 in every poll, but combined they have 1 player in the top 10 on this list. It is unfortunate that so many in Ky read this publication and the information is clearly inaccurate. Also, I realize Holmes has a new coach, but why is the 9th region the only region that has a picture of a coach over the top rated player?

Hardin is a joke and has been for a long time. That's why he has been nothing more than a fill in for the Enquirer for about a decade...

I understand that a new generation of folks may be following high school basketball closely in this area for the first time, so they may be surprised by the CatsPause preview. You shouldn't be, it's been that bad for the last 20 years. They've listed players witht he wrong school attached, listed players who graduated et al. in past top 10 rankings in some regions.

 

BTW, before anyone thinks I was taking a shot at them; no offense intended to the members here. It just seems like there's some surprise that the CatsPause preview is bad, so I thought a lot of you hadn't visited their previews often in past years.

I know how you all feel in the 9th region. The 12th region preview was absolutely terrible for years. No thought or effort used to make the rankings. It was laughable!!! But, this year a lot of time and effort was put into the 12th region Cats Pause. Coaches were polled and for the first time in I don't know when, the 12th region preseason rankings were accurate. Imagine that, a little time and effort and you get a good product. I could be picky and say a player or a team should be ranked one or two spots higher or lower, but overall it was outstanding! Maybe the 9th region writers should take some pointers from the 12th region writers........get coaches input!!!

The 13th and 14th writer, John Henson /Harlan Daily Enterprise also used the coaches poll to select the top teams and players. Sure with they would do this in the 10th too.

I'm with Sandman. Been seeing it for b-ball and football for quite a while.
