To your well-versed point, 02Ram54, there is no logic whatsoever in what the KHSAA has done. In their blind rush to get at St. X. and Trinity, they have smacked Male and Manual upside the head as well. I think the counter push needs to be a motion to seed the top 4 teams in each class. This would better assure that the best were still around at the end, while at the same time minimizing the travel cost argument.

But as it is there is no argument for this setup, outside of not just a desire to disrupt X and T but a general distaste for Louisville in the rest of the state. Why introduce a hypothetical into an argument that can be grounded in facts?

You may not believe it, but I agree with you. I'm just saying that T and X should not be in the same district no matter if they are closer to each other or not. It's not good for 6A and it's not good for Kentucky Football.

I think the point of the arguments isn't the fact that there is extra drive time involved. It's that some are saying that the new alignement is about a more fair alignment geographically, and for Louisville 6A, it's obvious that that wasn't at all the case.

 

Look, take Trinity and X out of the equation, because it doesn't matter where the KHSAA puts us, no one's going to be happy.

 

But if you're Seneca, Fern Creek, Southern, PRP, Ballard, etc, there is no way this is fair geographically. Frankly, Male, Manual and X are still together, nothing changes for them except that now Trinity is in the mix. For Trinity, we lose a natural rival in our neighbor school Ballard, but we get to play Male and Manual every year, whcih I think is a good thing.

 

You can't compare Louisville to the rest of the state. Taking Trinity & X out of the equation, this new alignement doesn't better anything for any of the other schools, IMO.
