Track the Reds (2nd Half, Week 9)

Featured Replies

The Reds add two games to their lead this past week, and head out to Colorado for a big 4 game series before heading up to take on the Pirates for 3. I'll take a split against the Rockies before heading home.

If Reds go 13-13 (92-70)....Cards mut go 21-7 (.750) to tie.

If Reds go 16-10 (95-67).....Cards must go 24-4 (.857) to tie

Right now a split would be real good. They are still getting good pitching and hitting well. Unfortunately they get Jiminez tomorrow. They've seen some good pitching their last four games.

Play .500 the rest of the way and there should be no problems making the postseason.

Reds vs Cards 6-12 (.333)...Reds vs rest of MLB 73-45 (.619)

That should help prepare them for the post season, if they should make it.

Don't care. Just get into the playoffs, and give them your best shot.

Only 3 games left against a 1st/2nd place team the rest of the regular season by the way.

I'm just throwing it out there.

I know, and I'm taking swings at it. :D

After 15 years of missing the playoffs, I'm sure Reds fans would be happy just getting a shot. Yes, pitching is huge in a short series, but we also know the "little things" win a lot of playoff games as well. Reds have been near the top all year in two out hits, runners 1st to 3rd, etc.

And you just stated that 12 of those losses are to the Cards. Kind of a skewed number.

I agree with this.

I was just throwing out the numbers for you guys to see, sorry I will keep it to myself next time. :D
