I guess everyone in the BRIAR PATCH can be happy now that Somerset is ranked ahead of Estill.
I don't consider myself "happy" that Somerset is ranked ahead of Estill Co. These are just polls that are fun to dissect and debate. That's all. That's the good thing about high school football, every team gets the opportunity to prove they are better than the rest and the best team walks off the field in December carrying the trophy. Now if we played by BCS rules then yes I would be "happy" because Somerset would have moved one step closer to being considered for the state tournament game.

Estill Co. has a good team this year and they will have the chance to prove that as the season progresses. Good luck to the Engineers.

It would be rather funny if Estill wins

It looks like 3A is another crap shoot once you get past the top 2-3

Why would it be funny if Estill Co. beat Somerset? They returned 20 starters from last years team that went 7-5. I consider that a great catalyst for a state run and a team capable of beating the Jumpers. I think both teams and fans should come off of the field respecting the other because there is a very good chance they will meet again in November when the stakes are a little higher. :thumb:

If 6 or 8 of them go both ways that would mean that 12 to 16 of the 22 positions are filled by those 6-8 players. Add in the other 4 to 6 players then between 16 and 22 out of 22 starting postions are filled by players that started last season going by what you've said.
