After Friday u will realize how good SK is there LB's are just to good Holmes will not be able to run on them.

I think SK will be good this year, but again the measuring stick isn't sweeping the district, etc. It is winning the state crown, and the Pioneeers season will last as long as they can avoid St. X or Trinity, if not sooner. They are overhyped, because their tradition demonstrates a lack of winning key games.

I know they do, but the Pioneers need a "signature" win for their program. I saw the state championship game a couple of years ago, and was rooting for SK, but they were way outclassed.

Another irritating post. How can fans of Simon Kenton all of a sudden get this arrogant. The program has 1 district championship to its name and just lost its best skill player ever who ran behind their best line ever. SK will have a great linebacking corp back and a good QB asnd after that...inexperience and potential. That's it. I'm failing to see how losing to NewCath is a bad thing. SK and NewCath would be a great game this year and Holmes is much improved.

 

I wouldn't put UK in with the rest of the SK fans. Most SK fans know this will be a tough year and it will be a battle all year in nky 6A.

Holmes isn't a running team..they run the spread offense so they can utilize their speed and athleticism in open space.

 

Being the football guru that you are, I figured you'd atleast know the offense they run and why.

 

SK may win, but I guarantee you Holmes will exploit some weaknesses that will have some of the REALISTIC SK fans worried.

 

BTW, you do realize Holmes has D1 talent as well, right?

 

Damian Oden is receiving interest from several small D1's and DeSean Peterson is already considered a high major prospect at WR...as a SOPHOMORE. Add in players like Tommy Courtney who was second team all area (cincinnati players included) as well Charles Knox at LB who is every bit as good as Regal Lowe was last year, and you have the makings of some pretty even match ups on both sides of the ball.

 

And you ask anyone close to Holmes' program, they'll tell you this is easily one of Holmes fastest teams in the program's history.

I am not sold on Simon either but if Holmes got handled by a strong 2A team how in the heck are they going to compete against a strong 6A team?

Simon Kenton handled Bryan Station pretty easy and they have alot of speed and athleticism.
