I think you made the right choice man. How late could you get Randy Moss? Do you think he could slide to round 3 in your fantasy draft?

No chance. He's an early 2nd rounder. If he was available in the 2nd for me I'd take him but he won't be. I'll probably end up going RB/RB. My 2nd round looks like I'll be taking a Shonn Greene or Ryan Matthews. RBs go quickly in my league and I don't like taking a QB in early rounds even if Rodgers/Brees/Manning are on the board.

Should be able to still get a nice WR in the third. Good luck brother :thumb:.

Thanks :thumb: Also thanks to everyone else. Input is always appreciated.

Most leagues have 2 RBs, 2 WRs, and a Flex....You're playing in some incredibly weird leagues if the norm is 3 WRs...

Well that could change things. Every big money league I play in is 3 WR's no TE's but TE's can be used as WR's and a flex so some leagues you could start 4 WR's.

I have rode Gore to the championship a few times in his career and his line is better, also his backup just retired...before he hurt his ankle last year he was on pace to be top 3 so if he stays healthy i think you made a great choice

I've slept on it, and it looks like Gore is my guy. Looking at his stats he's had 4 straight 1,000 yard rushing seasons and 4 straight seasons of 373 receiving yards or more. Turner and Jackson are just too injury prone for me, and I think I can wait to grab a stud wideout until the second round (maybe wait until 3rd to get a 2nd tier WR) even though no one really compares to Andre.

I wouldn't have considered Andre Johnson at that point. I think you could justify any of the three RB's you listed.

Jackson is the most physically gifted of the three, but he plays on the worst team. Gore has been solid, but not top 5 good for the most part. But, the 49ers look to be on their up with Singletary. Their offense should be improved with Alex Smith finally showing something, Vernon Davis emergin and Crabtree in the fold. Additionally, they added two new linemen in the first round of this draft. I think there's reason to believe that Gore will rack up strong yardage totals and exceed his career high 13 TD's from last season.

Turner is one year removed from a monster season. Even last season his numbers project to 1250 yards and 14 or 15 TD's over 16 games. The Falcons are a good situation with an established QB, elite TE and #1 WR...they can move the ball, which gives Turner plenty of scoring opportunities. And, they're committed to running the ball, which assures he'll get those chances, and get plenty of yards.

All three guys present injury concerns, IMO, so I don't see how you can use that to argue for or against any of them.

I'd have gone with Gore or Turner personally. I think their upside is higher simply because they play on teams that should be pretty good (and much better than the Rams). I'm a big Steven Jackson fan, and I think he's without doubt the best player of the three. I'm just not as high on his fantasy prospects this year as I have been in the past. I think S-Jax could have been a fantasy producer of the highest caliber (see 2006) if he'd played with any support over the years. His production in spite of his cast has been remarkable, IMO. The guy has never averaged under 4.1 yards per carry in his career.

Anyway...that's my 3 cents. I like the Gore pick. I think he'll have a career year in 2010 and that's probably who I'd have picked.

Thats odd, I have never once played in a league like that.

Westbrook just signed a 1 year deal with San Francisco. My draft is in 90 minutes. I'm thinking about changing to Turner. Any thoughts?

Ouch that sucks for Gore, I would go with Turner now.

I don't even think Westbrook is going to make a big difference but it definitely does scare me a bit. I could definitely see them cutting Gore's carries down.

Westbrook going to cut down on Gore's carries? Seriously? Not a chance IMO. Maybe the Westbrook from 3 or 4 years ago.

I have read a few people say stuff about the big money league that they are in, what exactly does that mean? Do you mean the most expensive league you are in or just high dollar and if so, how much? If you don't mind me asking. I bet on a lot of stuff, but would afraid to invest too much on fantasy football, too many variables for cheaters.

I never even considered that. The biggest thing about FF is to draft depending on your leagues structure. 5-10 years ago you just needed to draft two RB's in the first two rounds and go from there. Now there's a lot more to it including league structure. The fact that the league is a passing league now and that most backs have another back that steals carries changed fantasy football. I love it though b/c it brings more strategy back to the leagues.

I think either Gore or Turner would have been an acceptable pick. Westbrook's presence wouldn't cause me a lot of concern. He might help Gore by giving him some breaks during the games, keeping him fresher to close games. Gore is still getting the bulk of touches in San Fran.
