August 4, 201016 yr What was the blunder? I'm not watching or listening. Deep fly ball to center, Nix tried to tagging from 1st and was thrown out at 2nd. So instead of 1st and 3rd, 1 out and Janish at the plate, Janish gets walked and Cueto grounds out.

The thing is, even if he's safe there, you allow the Pirates to intentionally walk Janish to load the bases with Cueto up anyways....Just dumb decision, regardless of the outcome.

August 4, 201016 yr If the point he was trying to make is simply that his overall average was higher that RISP then he was correct. However, he said that Casey had a good overall average but when men were in scoring position he didn't do well. I think the stats would show that's not the case. With that said, I don't think RISP is an end-all-be-all stat. He said he wasn't always able to answer the bell. I'd say an average at least 20 points lower than his regular average every year you mentioned except 1 would mean he was a better hitter when guys weren't in scoring position. I don't think it's an end-all stat either. I do think EZ's point was correct though. He had a very good average and wasn't a huge RBI guy b/c he wasn't as good with RISP.
