It reminds me of the old joke where a child runs away from home after being spanked by his parents. Police ask where he is going, he says to Memorial Stadium, they never beat anyone down there.

 

This was in reference to the 1988 season in which Baltimore started 0-21. Just really sad to see what has happened to a once proud franchise.

 

Truer words were never spoken.

 

I grew up in the Orioles' glory days. Listened to the 1966 games on the radio; was a teenager in 1970. Felt a measure of pride in 1983, then again when Ripken set a new record for "the streak".

 

Seems like the Os got old and slow almost overnight. That along with some really bad big-money free-agent signings made for a horrible combination. As far as teams geographically close to Baltimore, the Phillies have obviously enjoyed recent success; and even the Nats have gotten a shot in the arm from Strasburg.

 

Not a lot to cheer for at Camden Yards these days.

I got to go to a game there last year and loved the Stadium. They have some talented young players in Weiters, Jones, Markakis, Scott and Roberts. That Division is brutal and they don't have the pitching.

I can guarantee you he won't do 180 days in jail, probably not even 10% of that. If any other than tonight.

That kid is classic. Dude had more respect for the ump than the cops.

One word: TASER!

The best fan nab by a player is a tie for me, either Steeler James Harrison or back in the day, Colt Mike Curtis. He was a bad man. Youtube those two.
