Inception (2010) [Caution: Spoilers]

Fabulous movie....Finally one that lives up to, and dare I say exceeds, the hype.

Easily Leo's best movie IMO.

The plot/storyline is one of the best concepts I've seen in a movie in a long time. Really tough to grasp what's going on at first, but once you wrap your head around it, it's phenomenal.

The best part about the ending is everyone I know who's seen it has a different interpretation of its meaning. Also, most I know have seen it twice now, and have said it's much better the 2nd time thru as they pick up on little things throughout that make the ending more understandable.

I said that too after watching the movie. And I loved the Departed and Gangs of New York.

I have only seen the movie once but I think they were trying to perform an "inception" on Cobb. I'm kind of wavering on that theory though. I definitely think at the very end where he saw his kids was a dream though.

I hadn't thought of that. That sounds like something that could have been happeing. I like that theory.

I also think he was subconsciously remembering what they looked like. We also didn't see how he go to his home, which is another reason why I believe it was a dream. We'll never know though unless there is a sequel, but I don't think there will be one.

Shutter Island is better the 2nd time because of this exact same reason.

That movie still has me confused. I really enjoyed it, then the final 20 minutes totally ruined it for me. Still not sure exactly what happened at the end.

Have you watched it a second time? Inception was way more confusing to me than Shutter Island.

He was crazy in Shutter Island IMO. He did come to realization with everything but the guilt was still to much for him to bear. Therefore he "pretended" that the doctor was still his partner by calling him the wrong name. So they would give him a lobotomy and he would not have that guilt anymore. That is where the phrase would you rather die a hero or live as a monster comes in.

All this is just how I took it. The big thing that deters this is the lady in the cave but that was all just in his head. He was a crazy person remember haha.

Getting back to Inception. They say dreams always jump around and to think how you got there, and that is how the movie was the whole time and how it starts. That is why I think he was in la la land the whole time. Maybe his father was trying to get him out? Or Mal? I haven't sorted through all the details.

Great Movie !!!! Saw it tonight .

DiCaprio is the best actor going IMO. He's past DDL in my book because Day-Lewis is hardly ever in a movie.

Completely different types of actors is why.

Leo is great, but Day-Lewis is a chameleon. He rarely does movies because of the in-depth preparation, research, and transformation he does for each role.

I love Leo's movies, but I'll take quality over quantity.

I wanted to stay competely out of this thread because I didn't want to read anything that would ruin the movie for me. I didn't talk to any friends about it either.

Just got home from watching it with my lady, and I must say that I was defintely impressed. It was a very good movie. With that being said, I totally called the two major parts of the ending. I was very proud of myself lol. But still a great movie.
