I always pulled for the Bill Simmons idea of a reality show, much like The Bachelor which featured LeBron and the 30 NBA GMs. Each show, he would eliminate 10 GMs or so, until only two remained, and on the finale, he would sign the contract.

You serious about thinking Bosh and Wade have been worse? I think just about all of them have been pretty mum on their intentions throughout the whole process. And any player who decides to hold a 1 hour special televised announcement is just a diva.

DWade saying crap like "I'm in a New York state of mind" and completely wasting the Bulls time so Riley could have time to secure Bosh. Wade had real interest in Chicago in the end. His kids live in Chicago.

Maybe LeBron has been the most professional this week, but he wasn't the most professional for the past 2 years (and I understand that he didn't answer questions about it for a good deal of last season) when he was hyping up the summer of 2010 and his pending free agency... And that, along with his one hour special, trumps anything that Wade and Bosh have done in a week, IMO.

FWIW, I have no problem w/ Lebron having a special announcement. I like the idea, and I love the fact that he's giving the advertising money to charity. Very cool idea, in my opinion.

I watch ESPN and I post on discussion boards. I do not follow this stuff by the minute but watching this NBA offseason has been interesting. I still think they are attention divas but that is their choice. I can't say I wouldn't be tempted to do the same thing if I wasn't in that situation.

NY and ESPN hyped this Free Agent period more than LeBron did over the years.

I don't know, I just seen the report about him saying his kids living situation would have a factor in his decision but I didn't see the report about him saying he didn't want to live in Chicago over the divorce.

 

 

And I'm pretty sure he did trash the Bulls back towards the end of the season or beginning of the offseason but a lot of players do that. I'm sure other players have done the same thing then signed with that team. One example would be Johnny Damon signing with the Yankees.
