Panda, go back to Vegas and stay at NY-NY hotel If you need your fix of the big apple . I love Vegas but can not stand New York City. Been there a dozen times and just never had a good time. It ranks right behind Hollywood as my least favorite place to visit.:puke:

What are you doing in New York that you've been a dozen times and always hate it? I've been twice and can't wait to go back.

Mostly work in the winter time. Suits, cold feet, rude people, etc. I travel a lot and have had great experiences every where else. Plus the prices our outrageous and every body is an expert on everything if/when they actually can speak English.

I'm amused when a native New Yorker or Jersey-ite tells a southerner, "Youse tawk funny."

But no time to horse around.

 

I just did New York City for 5 days a few weeks ago and can't wait to go back. We stayed two nights right on Times Square, went to Mets-Yankees game on Saturday afternoon. An interesting story on that is our tickets through the Reds who my buddy works for feel through so we went up and there with no tickets prepared to scalp. There were very very few guys scalping and we had no luck what so ever. We had given up and were walking across the street to one of the bars to watch it and a guy ( our guardian angel) came up to me and said he was going to give me the best deal ever. I said lets' hear it and he sold us 4 tickets 16 rows off the field next to 3B for face value (100 bucks each). One of the best sporting events I have been too and we had a blast. I looked on Stub Hub and those same tickets were going for 225-250 bucks. We then took the trip to Long Island and played Bethpage Black on Sunday followed by watching the US Open on Sunday night. We then played Bethpage Red and Yellow courses on Monday followed by another day exploring Manhattan on Tuesday before flying home. We also got extremely lucky and got through on the Bethpage phone system 2 days before and secured a tee time for the Black course and didn't have to camp out. I'm thinking of taking my wife and boys on vacation there in a few weeks. I loved the energy of the city and was in awe of the size and scope of the city. I've definitely been spoiled on my trips up there. I have friends that live in Harlem, Queens and Brooklyn and I've always been able to stay with them on my visits and having a guide that lives there really helps cut down on costs, especially on food; they know where to go. I can definitely understand your sentiment about people being rude; it's something about the Northeast. I think your feeling about New York is the same one I have for Boston... I didn't like that town at all.

I shot 96 which matched the temperature and humidity levels. The walking the course wasn't as bad as I feared with using a pull cart.
