June 8, 201016 yr The last article I read said it will depend on whether or not Apples renews AT&T's exclusive contract. If they do it will be 2012 before Verizon gets it. It was renewed with AT&T. Apparently there were promises to upgrade their service so Apple stayed with them, for now.

June 9, 201016 yr I always was under the impression the iPhone ran on a different type of network (I believe it's GSM) than the CDMA that Verizon runs on. If I was able to get an iPhone for Verizon, I would surely do it. What network are you on? After being with Sprint for 7 1/2 years I left them because of their CDMA network, since I go overseas a lot now I needed a phone where I could just slip my sims card out and slip one in of the area I am in at the time, so I needed a GSM network company. I got an unlocked iPhone back in December and it's worked great ever since! I was first with Cincinnati Bell, but they didn't have a great signal in my house, then I switched to T-Mobile, which is a lot better in my home.

June 9, 201016 yr Author I would strongly advise against unlocking the iPhone... From the guy who says Drew Stubbs is a waste of a roster spot. I like it. How am I going to use an iPhone on another network without unlocking it? I've been working with no problems for close to a year now.

I thought that was self-explainatory....Fact is, "unlocked" phones do have more problems than normal ones, and when those problems occur, you're out of luck as Apple will tell you, "too bad, so sad"...

There is plenty of information on the internet with help on unlocking,jailbreaking,etc. to solve any problem that would ever come up. If someone doesn't have good IT skills I probably wouldn't recommend it though.

That's not what I'm saying...I'm saying if the phone stops working or breaks or something like that at any point, not necessarily from "unlocking", they won't do any type of troubleshooting. They'll just say, "sorry about your luck."

June 9, 201016 yr I will but mainly because I'm not paying full price for it. I still have several months on my contract. I read somewhere that iPhone asked ATT to move up all plans 6 months, so you shouldn't have to wait as long.
