June 2, 201016 yr Reds All Stars should include: Votto Leake Rolen Potentially: Gomes Rhodes I'd say Rolen should probably be starting as of now. The Rolen and Zimmerman debate is too close to call right now, both are doing great job this season.

June 2, 201016 yr I've seen elections in eastern Kentucky with more credibility than MLB All-Star voting. 25 times a day? Seriously? What's wrong with voting once online? Under the old way, there seemed to be a more diverse lineup. Under this system, five Phillies are in the lead to be starters. Four Yankees are in the lead in the AL. I dont have a problem including the fan in the voting who doesnt live near a MLB ballpark. But 25 times a day?

You can vote a TOTAL of 25 times online from a valid email address. In order to vote more than 25 times online you'd have to set up multiple accounts, which I'm sure happens but it is no different from a fan filling out a stack of votes at the park.

The Phillies and Yankees leading the voting isn't necessarily because their fans are going wild voting online. Those two teams are 1-2 in average attendance with over 44,000 per game.

It has taken away a multitude of deserving places for players. It really infuriates me in a sport like baseball, which is so concerned with numbers, that they put such little stock in to the process. When it comes to Hall of Fame voting time, number of All Star game appearances is a big deal. While the NFL's all star game is terrible, they at least get the voting part correct.

Does one have to be a fan of the local team in order to be a true fan in your warped way of looking at it? I've been a Sox fan since well before their recent success. I began following them when they acquired Manny and Pedro, then fell in love with not only the Red Sox, but all Boston sports (sans Celtics), when I first went there back in 2003. If that makes me a bandwagoner, then so be it. :idunno:

But the most deserving Reds player (Rolen) is still nowhere to be found. No way Phillips will catch up to Utley. The best shot was getting Rolen in as a starter but there is still a lot of work to be done if that's going to happen.

Utley is having probably his worst season ever...just doesn't seem fair. I'm going to the game Saturday with a group of guys after enjoying beverages all day watching USA play soccer, so I will holler at them to fill some ballots out for ya lol.
