May 28, 201016 yr Everyone go here and vote for reds players for the game. There were no Reds players in the top 5 at any position which is crazy. I would at least like to see one of our players receive a lot of votes. Votto is just at a bad position to get votes even though he is either the second or third best first baseman statistically so far this year. I've been going and voting a couple times a day for basically all the reds players. You can vote up to 25 times a day I think. Just go there and support your team. Thanks!

May 28, 201016 yr Author For goodness sake, Berkman is ahead of Votto in the voting. As of right now five of the eight starters are Phillies. And their catcher is only a few votes back from Molina of the Cardinals so it could by six of the eight fielders could be Phillies. As of right now all of the starters are Cardinals and Phillies except for Braun. If that is the way you want it then go ahead and don't vote and don't support your team. Joey Votto is the best first baseman in the NL statistically if you take everything into considersation so far so is he really not deserving not to receive your vote especially when he is a member of the Reds. There are only three first basemen ahead of him statistically and they are Morneau, Cabrera, and Youkilis.

Votta is playing the wrong position from a popularity and market aspect but the way your last post sounded you vote from a deserving standpoint. And as of right now Votto is the best first baseman in the NL. Things could change a great deal in the next few weeks, Pujols could hit a hot streak..but we are talking about right now Votto is the most deserving first baseman by the numbers.

May 28, 201016 yr Votto has been superb this season. He probably should receive a solid amount of votes. Will he? Doubtful. Pujols will be the starting 1B in the All-Star game for as long as his career lasts...
May 28, 201016 yr Also, another factor that I feel is important with the Pujols/Votto debate is the amount of intentional walks Pujols has already received this season. He has been intentionally walked 15 times through 47 games.

The Cincinnati Reds just don't have that big of a fan base, and the fans they have don't have enough interest to put in time for the team. Look at Great American Ballpark for instance. The team is in first place and can't get a packed house. Just the way it goes sometimes....
