I'm going to ask this question and I don't want everyone to jump down my throat, but I think it's a valid question.

Is there really an audience for this??

By that, I mean is there going to be enough of an audience to justify the cost of doing this? Seems to me that there are other schools that have a much bigger and more widespread following that would be a better fit for this kind of coverage.

Don't get me wrong, I think it's great. Not sure where the idea generated from but Marksberry sure seems like the type of coach that is not afraid of the spotlight and enjoys the opportunity to promote his program. This is a big step in that direction. I just wonder how many people that are interested in Pioneer football are going to listen to them on the radio vs. just go see them live and in person.

I think they are valid questions. You do have some big money backers in Independence, but in the past they have been fickle. The Pioneers had better win or the sponsors will drop like flies. I see this as a one year deal. Only because I think SK will be disappointed in the community support and I just don't think SK will be as good in 2010 as they were in 2008 or 2009. I know that will rile some feathers, but it is the track record of the area. I am not opposed to them giving it a try.

Nice play on words.

Wow once again I agree with History on this one. Isn't Bulldog Deters son a senior on this team next year?? Just saying....

The cost of producing these shows are relatively cheap. The station is ranked 32 out of 36 of stations in the greater Cincinnati area, barely showing any statistics for measurements, so I doubt the cost of buying air time can't be much of a factor. With this deal you not only get Independence and south Kenton county, but also large school opponents from Cincinnati, Boone, Kenton, and Campbell County as well as potential audiences.

This seems like another nice step for the Pioneer program and I wish them well and look forward to the program.
