Note to HC: You didn't win this game, credit all the extra innings CCH played earlier. Good job HC, but CCH would have won if it wasn't for that...

Futurecoach you just completely contradicted yourself in your last two posts.

HC won this game fair and square and you can't take anything away from them. It is not their fault CCH played a 12 inning game earlier in the day, they just went out and did what they had to do and got the W.

How did I contradict myself? I agree Holy Cross won fair and square. I don't think it was right, that he tries to make the excuse right off the bat that CovCath played 19 innings and that is why they lost. I gave the guy a thumbs up for his post about it, because his post was very sarcastic. That is why he had the roll eyes icon at the end of his post, because he was just being sarcastic. At least that is how I took it. So I didn't contradict myself at all.

In the CovCath 19th inning of Baseball for the day, CovCath just quite couldn't pull this one out, in their last at bat of the day. With the base loaded and one out Lankheit hit a fly ball to center field where the Holy Cross CF caught the ball and then threw out Taylor at the plate to end the game and preserve the victory for Covington Holy Cross.

Been far to long of a weekend and a day, to post anything else on this game today.

Lets review what I posted

Fact: CovCath played 19 innings on Sunday

Fact: CovCath just quite couldn't pull this one out!

Fact: With the bases loaded Lankheit hit a fly ball to CF and the HC CF threw out the runner at the plate for a DP to end the game!

Fact: The play preserved the victory for Cov Holy Cross

So what did I say that wasn't either truthful or honest?

So why haven't you Futurecoach, or ETS factor posted anything about the game? You both attended the game didn't you?

I was simply reminding Holy Cross that their win last night should have an asterisk next to it...

Seriously though, the way you worded it sounded like that was your excuse to why CCH didn't win. I could of come out and said: After four games and delivering mulch till late Saturday night, for a school fundraiser, Holy Cross wins it's fifth game of the weekend and are Doc Morris Champs, this all without pitching their top pitcher in Roenker and their #2 man, Ritter, only 2/3 innings.

We all know CCH played 12 innings before, and were probably exhausted, but that doesn't mean HC didn't deserve this win. Tyler Johnson pitched a heck of a game and HC needed him to, clutch performance on his part.

I just thought it was taking away from a big HC win. I know you do a lot for this site, especially in this forum and I am appreciative, I enjoy reading your post-game summaries. Just thought the way you worded it defiently took away from the HC win, and obviously I'm not the only one who thought this.

And yes I was at the game, thanks for checking pal. :thumb:

So tell me about the game from a HC point of view. :idunno:

From my point of view the play of the game, was the blown call (IMO) by the Umpire on the ball hit by Ritter he called fair in the 4th inning with two outs!

I was sitting directly on the line in the stands of the left field line and had a clear view of the play as did others on our side of the field. We could clearly see green grass between the ball and the chalk line when it hit! Yes because the man in blue called it fair, the play of course stood, so be it but it was indeed the turning point of the game as HC scored 4 runs in that inning.

Your point of view of the play of the game?

But I have been the only one to make a comment on the game and what was a huge part of the game. BTW did you read my comment post #11 about what a great weekend it was and thanking the players etc?

Ball was fair, but that's only my opinion TOG

Just curious nothing more or nothing less, as to where you were sitting?

To be completely honest I didn't have a great view of the play. I was sitting in the Holy Cross section of the stadium and didn't have a clear view. Regardless, that puts a man on second with 2 outs. It's up to Cov Cath to get out of the inning, so I think it's a little bit unfair to put the game changing play/inning on an umpire.

And Holy Cross' head coach went to high school at Brossart, not CovCath. No Krumps training.:sssh:

CovCath is a better than average team, but nowhere near what they have been before. That being said they could still win the region, but they better make certain they get out of the districts first.

Did the homeplate umpire make the call or was there an ump down the 3rd baseline?

From what I was told it was the 3B umpire.

I thought it was the 3B umpire, meaning he had a very good view of the ball.

I was sitting behind the plat and had a pretty good view of the 3B line. Of course being that far from where the ball hit, I might be incorrect. I thought it looked fair.
