Who won the 10th region freshmen tourney this year?

GRC won the JV tourney. We only lost, like 3 games all year.

Who won the 10th region freshmen tourney this year?

 

Harrison Co but Scott didn't participate in it.

 

They usually participate in the NKY Freshman Region Tournament instead. Scott beat a very talented Holmes' team in the freshman region championship this year.

 

I believe the Eagles were led by a kid with the last name Jackson. He is a very good player and I'd assume he'll see varsity time for the Eagles next year. Their frosh class is very deep.

True...but Clark Co also lost Hatton and Williams from last year's team.

 

This year, Mason loses the Lang boys, King, and Bluford while Clark returns everyone but one player.

 

And not to take anything away from Kindred, but honestly I thought the Cards looked better when their starting 5 was Daniels, Purvis, Zollo, Stenzel, and Rogers.

 

The difference the past two years between the two has been Mason Co's depth. Clark Co will be very deep next year which is why I like them to win the region.

Scott did participate in the 10th Region Freshman tournament. They beat Brossart in O.T. to win the district and played Mason Co. first game of the freshman region and lost.

Mason Co. will be # 1 and should win every game by about 10 points until proven otherwise.

Montgomery County could be a team that will surprise some people once again. They will be returning (present grade) freshman Prewitt, sophomores Fruth and Handshoe, and juniors Mullins, Dotson, Clark,and Asberry. Throw in a possible big man in 6'6" freshman Combs as well as another freshman or two from the 40th district freshman winners and who knows what might happen.

I disagree. Everyone knew coming in to this season that GRC's downfall was going to be a lack of depth since they essentially only went 6 deep.

 

Mason Co was loaded with depth this year, which was developed through all the injuries.

 

With Clark Co having 11 juniors this year, I think it's safe to assume that they'll be fairly deep next year.

Just because they picked them doesn't mean they were right.

 

And a lot of people said it was theirs to lose after Pawsat was thought to be lost for the year due to an injury. BEfore that, everyone saw it as Mason/Clark-Clark/Mason...toss up.

 

We can re-visit this thread next March if you like, but I have a feeling there will be some unhappy MC fans when GRC is at Rupp.

I mean really the poll was way in favor of GRC. I mean back to back years the underdog Royals have won it. But your right should be interesting 2011 Season.

Harrison's JV team was impressive. What was their final record? I know in the 38th they beat Nicholas and Deming and lost to Pendleton by 1 but they couldn't have lost to many teams in the 10th.

Im not sure of their final record was but the lost very few games. They have six or seven really good basketball players on the freshman level. They beat Clark, Scott, Mason, and some other high quality basketball teams. I'm not saying that in a few years they will be able to beat every team in the region but I really think they have a shot at competing for the 10th region championship.
