Have heard nothing or read nothing about the All-Star game between yesterday's sessions at Transy? Anyone have stats or anything?

Vance Hall from Franklin County was the best player on the floor for either team. He was named MVP for the East Team.

 

The West team MVP was Donovan Gibbs of Iroquois.

 

I don't think anyone was keeping stats that are posted anywhere. They were keeping them at the table for the purpose of choosing the MVP's, but that is about it.

The West squad was Regions 1-8 and the East Squad was 9-16. Hall was defintely the best player on the floor in this game with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Gibbs is very athletic. Polson showed he has great talent and Aaron Watts shot the 3 ball very well.

It was a fun game to watch. As in most all-star games lots of up/down, run-gun-have fun-shoot the three.

 

I only kept scoring stats on Jacob Rieger (Brossart) and Dylan Hamilton (Bracken County), the two 10th Region representatives. Rieger connected on three of four 3-point attempts and scored one conventional basket for 11 points/5 Rebounds/5 steals.

Hamilton put on a shooting exhibition in the second half putting up 16 points on four 3's and a pair of 2's. The boy can shoot. I told a group of coaches that I walked into the game with that he was a pure shooter, and he didn't let me down. It seemed half of Bracken County accompanied Hamilton to the all-star game, and they were very vocal whenever Dylan connected on a shot.

 

They publiched an official stat sheet but I gave my copy to the Riegers to add to Jake's many mementos of a rewarding high school career.

One thing about Bracken County, they support every athletic team and individual to the upmost(girls and boys), if they were ever able to make it to a state tournament people statewide would see this.

Congrats to both of those boys representing the 10th REgion well. I have always liked Rieger's game and work ethic. I hope he gets what he wants and has a successfull 4 yrs in college.
