Dude - I understand guard play has been the weakest part of the team this year, but man, I think they all read this site and would be upset in reading your comment. My guess is all that play are out there doing their best and doing what they have been told to do for the most part.

 

I think each of the guards has played at least one game this year that they played very well in, and if we can get more than one of them to play their best of the year against Newport, they could pull it out!

I just thought your statement about no guards was harsh, should one of the guys read it. As I know many of the players if not all do read these boards, my guess is at least one of the guards has read that their team has no one who can play guard at all.

20 hours until tipoff. At 27-5 Newport has the best record in Northern Kentucky. (Holmes is 24-5) Newport had losses 2 to Holmes, 2 to New. Cath. and 1 to DeSales (All A tourney). Cov. Cath. has some big wins over New. Cath., Ryle, Conner, Brossart, Glasgow. It should be fun to watch. How long has it been since Cov. Cath. and Newport played?

Unless someone can correct me, I think Newport has the most wins in the state.

CovCath needs a big game from Wellbrock to win, he's their most athletic player that can keep up with Newport. Newport struggles against good post players, so Thelen should have a good offensive game to keep it interesting.

I agree, we have to keep in perspective that they are High School kids and that they are doing their best. Not every kid out there can be All State and the fact that they are out there competing in the Regional tournament is a testament in itself. Good Luck to all the players tonight. It should be fun.

No, I will have my man John Robinson, father of Michael next to me as he's been Jason's main backup. We will be in the same spot. Please stop by the booth. Could be tough if we lose with his son being a senior, so let's not lose. Jason's surgery went very well and he called me an hour after surgery. Strangely though, he made a lot more sense and knew a lot more about basketball while coming out of anesthesia.
