Ryle/St. Henry Predictions

Now that was one game I am glad I missed! (plus Ryle is one of the darkest gyms in the Region)
You're right about that paNDA. When we played at Cooper I couldn't believe how bright their gym was compared to ours.

NCC played their best players and those that the coach felt gave them the best opportunity to win the game. As I posted earlier "when Fryer fouled out and NCC went to the bench, the momentum totally changed in favor of Ryle" and "that's my opinion and apparently NCC coach as well" .

It's my unbiased opinion that had NCC gone to the bench earlier in the game, based upon what happened in the last 4 minutes, NCC would NOT have been in position the win the game in the final minutes.

Enough said. :walk:

You're discounting the fact that as a coach you have the entire regular season to build your bench so that you do not have to rely on 5 players. So one of two things happened last night: They either didn't get the chance to develop in meaningful spots during the season (ie other than blowouts) or Coach Dawn simply rolled the dice and came up short.

Sometimes you're dealt the cards and you just have to play with them, don't think any dice were involved here. :thumb:

So if I'm reading you correctly you're saying there was no talent on the bench to develop.

Never said there was "no talent", just not the same level of talent as the starting five. Rye, in my opinion, is the only team in the 9th region that can go to the bench for 2 or 3 players without changing the level of play.

Maybe this thread will heat up as the game approaches tomorrow night.

And maybe there will be post about the game!

I like Ryle to advance in this matchup. The margin depends on their intensity.
Unfortunately, I think sometimes the coaching staff at St. Henry believes they have depth, going to the bench and allowing games to get away or allowing teams to get back into games that were once under control. :idunno:

I hope St. Henry can stay out of foul trouble and keep starters on the floor for the majority of the game. St. Henry could learn a lesson from the top teams in the region that keep their starters on floor the entire game unless in foul trouble. Last nights game was a perfect example, when Fryer fouled out and NCC went to the bench, the momentum totally changed in favor of Ryle. Good luck Lady Cru !!!!

I REALLY hope you're not a dad on this team, because I'm sure if you're saying it on here you're saying it at home! IF St. Henry leaves their starters on the floor the whole game, I definitely give the advantage to Ryle!

Revenge factor will keep the Raiders sharp. Take care of business, Lady Raiders.

Ryle seems to have matured a great deal since last season. St Henry won't roll over but I do expect the Raiders to have a comfortable win.

Coach Coburn does an outstanding job. I would take his opinion, seeing the girls in practice and games everyday, over the casual fan. I am sure he will have a great game plan and have his girls ready to play. Ryle has the advantage in talent, but I give the coaching edge to St Henry. Should be a good game.

I respectfully will disagree with you on who has the coaching edge. Oliverio doesn't garner much respect but I feel she has done an outstanding job at Ryle. She has had to make some tough and unpopular choices over players and playing time in the past 2 years but there is not a more cohesive team in the 9th Region. They will be ready to play tonight and they will move on to Sunday afternoon's finals.

I respect Coburn and agree that he has done a great job with Lady Cru program. Just my personal opinion (i thought that's what the site was for) that St. Henry has on occasion, gone to the bench to early and to often. There are several girls on the bench that are key players and must contribute in order for St. Henry to be competitive. Just don't believe that St. Henry goes 10 or 11 deep without impacting the outcome of the game. Good luck to the Lady Cru tonight, play good D and bring home a victory. :dancingpa

I'm taking Ryle in this one!
