It was a great game, the large crowd was very into it and the Cards played great after the horrible start. Finally a big win against the state's best and to get past all those close games to the Louisville teams this year. That was a heck of a pass by Purvis, on the money, and a tough catch by Zollo for the last shot in regulation. The big knock on GRC has been can they play with a team with athletic guards and for the most part they did fine this game. Stenzel was the man in the second half while Zollo seemed to be the only one playing in the first quarter and carried the team. Rogers stepped it up in the second half and some big free throws by all especially nice for the senior Kindred to knock down two big ones at the end of OT and on senior night. That will be a great memory for him. My favorite part was watching Corey Rogers bounce, not normally a great free throw shooter, down the court after his big time free throws late.

I agree. Now we have to take one game at a time and take care of business.

 

GRC gives Ballard only their second loss to a instate school. Their other loss is to Trinity. Ballard also lost to Memphis Central, which GRC defeated in the KOB.

 

GRC ends the regular season 22-6 against one of the strongest if not the strongest schedule in the state.Losses to 4 teams from the powerful 7th region, Scott Co and Lexington Catholic. The Cards are battle tested and ready for post season. Follow you goals and dreams Cards.:thumb: I am enjoying the ride and it isn't over yet.

The more I let this sink in the more I think the reason GRC was able to come out in the second half was the fact that Robbie Stenzel has his swagger back! The last few weeks he has seemed to be in a shooting funk and last night he seemed to regain that knock-em down attitude he has played with since eighth grade. If he can keep this team playing like they are for a final run.....watch out! This whole team contributes and is very good, but with the player Robbie is, he is the over the top factor that will beat the best in the state! Don't get me wrong, this whole team is great even the bench play has picked up a sense of urgency that is really impressive, but Robbie's ability to drive and create shots makes everyone elses job a little easier!:popcorn::notworthy:
