Southwest asks Kevin Smith to debark

Honestly, I've never been on a plane where someone took up half of someone else's seat. That's mighty huge, I'm sure it's possible, but I've never seen it. Also, part of the problem is that airline seats have gotten smaller over the years so they could make more money, so part of the problem is of their making.

What you're not taking into account is that for the guy that had me pressed against the window the problem was twofold. First, his width was almost impossible to squeeze between the armrests. Then because his gut is so big and wide his arms have to hang outside of his girth and they, too, are now in your space.

Being really fat, really happy, and extremely healthy, I have no problem with Clyde's opinion.

I've been buying 2 seats, 3 when Mrs. S flies with me, or riding in Business/First Class long before the airlines started their "width" policies. I did this even when I was thin. I like the extra space, but primarily, like Clyde, I don't care to have an uninvited someone invade my space. The difference is, I don't expect the airline to take care of my space issues, I take care of them myself.

...and you represent the vast minority in that you take care of it.

My boss is big, a good 360. I've traveled with him where I was pressed against the window on a flight from NKY to Las Vegas. Yeah it was uncomfortable, but again, I was able to deal with it.

Rockmom will be thrilled to know that the VERY first person I thought of today when I saw that Cee-Lo was my seatmate and couldnt get the armrest to go down was indeed, her.
