Somebody sent a message tonight to NKY. I heard Pittman had a dunk that was ala Lebron over Duncan a couple years ago. The victim who was posterized was the 6'6 Frosh Maniacci.

Pittman had 22 pts when he was taken out of the game early in the 4th.

I wouldn't call spanking Cooper sending a message.

The only message from this game is that Cooper has a long way to go.

I think this beat down was a message. Didn't think they would beat them that bad just because of Coach Henley.

Why would he even be in during the 4th at all with a score like that?

Anyone have the quarter scores?

1st 2nd 3rd 4th

Holmes 32 15 18 14

Cooper 12 5 6 5

Pittman had 22 and played the first quarter, sat the entire second and played only 4 minutes in the 3rd.

Holmes played the entire 4th with backups, they were trying to send a message early I believe but once they got up by a big margin they slowed it down some, and they did call off the dogs late. At they half I thought they may be gunning for 100

Holmes actually started the 4th with Gray, Herndon, McClendon, Avery and Hayes in the game, Pittman, Rice, Johnson's and Slusher never touched the court.

Holmes' scoring:

Pittman 22 , Hayes 10, R. Johnson 8, Herndon 8, J. Johnson 7, Rice 5, Slusher 5, Stevens 4, Gray 4, Mayfield 2, Avery 2, Reese 2

Both Rice and Pittman sat out the entire second quarter because of foul trouble and Pittman only played 3 1/2 minutes of the third quarter.

13 of Pittman's 22 points came in the first quarter. He dominated the third quarter scoring on 3 or 4 straight possessions, including back to back dunks and then Coach Henley took him out with 4:35 left in the third and Holmes up 59-19.

Beating a team by 50+ when you could have easily played more of your bench and maybe worked on some halfcourt things to me is sending a message. From what I heard Henley let them run and was a little more freespirited in his coaching. You knew after the loss to Ryle that Cooper was going to be the child just waiting for Dad to come home with the belt.

I was there and in no way did I think Holmes ran it up or did anything that would suggest that. Holmes could have easily scored 150 if they really wanted to. I don't think I even saw coach Henley get out of his chair. I know nothing of him other than watching a few games from the stands and he seems as classy as they come.

Congrats to the freshman Maniacci on his first varsity start. While he did get dunked on twice, a two hand dunk by Rico along the baseline in the first and a big one hand break-away dunk by Pittman in the third, he still did not back down. He, as to be expected, just got beat by a couple of the best players in the state. He had six points and drew a couple of fouls on Pittman. Overall for a freshman I thought he did well. I also thought Coach Sullivan coached his rear off and would not let the kids quit. He was vocal to the final whistle which was good to see.

Congrats to Holmes and I hope you bring home another title this year.:thumb:
