Your earliest memory of your favorite team?

Featured Replies

I remember reading stories about David Thompson leaping up to grab quarters stacked on the top of the backboard and crazy things like that. I saw a few films of him in his heyday; I bet he would have been fun to see live.

Never saw him live but on the old CBS NBA games that they sometimes taped and played. I think it was '77 when he still had knees and a nose he teamed with Dan Issel and made the Denver Nuggets a tough team to play. I recall him as being every bit the same level as Dr. J but not as tall and a lot more baggage (sniff) that went with him.

The earliest memories I have were watching some of the games when Travis Ford was playing. He was my favorite player just because he could shoot three's so well. I really don't remember much of the results though. I think 95 was when I really started to watch and really know what going on and get behind them.

I think it was the 1978 Team that beat Duke and Goose Givens scoring 41 points and James Lee had in your face Dunk! I was 11 years old and remember it was a school night and got to stay up until after 11:00 P.M. to watch the game and the Post Game Presentation! I thought I was really a cool dude and was high on WildCat Mania!

Go Big Blue!

1972 UCLA beating Florida State for the National Championship. I barely remember the 1968 team winning it all.

Have you ever seen this site celebrating the ABA? Great stuff ...

I remember going to a Reds game in 1970 (first year Riverfront opened) during Bat Day. I got a "Pete Rose" model bat and for some unknown reason was absolutely devastated that my friend got a "Lee May" bat.
