I curiously wander  what meachem had to do get this deal done...

There really wasn't any deal. It was just what the people involved thought was best, and SS was willing to work with the group, on such things as scheduling and all.

As for as the Pittman team, That just happens to most teams, some players move on to other teams. But I have not heard of what you mentioned.

I was down at the KBA in Lexington and got a chance to Watch DSAS and SS play in the state championship last year and it was a heck of a game combine those two teams together and i don't know of another team in the State that could beat them.

Throw Gilbert from mason county and Tregg Setty who i know was talking about playing with the SS team this year in the mix and this team has enough talent to sub 5 in 5 out, have fresh legs, and run teams off the court.

Stenzel, Fant, Knipp, Pike, Pawsat would throw a few big dunks down each game!

Will Jeff Davis still be coaching this team if it moves to Shinning Stars?

Intresting Question...

If i had to guess i'd so Buddy Pittman would still coach the team since its the Shinning stars organization, however i could be wrong

If someone wanted to put together another HS all star team to compete with them and work out the logistics, it is possible to put together a team to compete with them.

Other than winning the State AAU championship I think it kind of defeats the purpose of kids playing summer ball, you can only put five of them on the court at one time.

That makes since but its about more than just the AAU State Champioship, its about the College Circut when kids get exposure and play against the top AAU teams and prospects in America. The Take 5, The HoopFest, The King James Classic the Nationals is where a team with a roster like this will come in hand.

Just maybe another AAU team,17 and under should be formed. I would like to see Jeff Davis continue to coach.

I agree, but again only five of them can play at a time. We should be trying to get as many kids as we can in our state that type of exposure that those games bring. Whats the since in having four of five the state better players playing behind ballers of equal talent. There are alot of teams at those tournaments looking to get to the late rounds on Sunday, too many all stars on one team could mean less floor time for exposure for some of those kids then all they get out of it is the medal.

I agree. It's all about exposure.

Understandable, but IMO those types of tournaments your running up and down constantly and being able to have 10 guys that can flat out score and play basketball your team is gonna do great things.

However i do understand your point

KY will have several teams that will be able to compete with them. There will be plenty of room for exposure for any other kids. It is not as if the DSAS team did not play with an all star cast last year. They were loaded last year, they won state and did well on the July Circuit. They will be loaded again this year, but just under a new name. It's really not that different.

I'm just curious. Is the Derek Smith team from last year coming as a unit or will it be a compilation with the Pittman team. The Shining Star Pittman team was pretty good in itself last year. What happens to this team if the top guys are removed? This must be a horrible scenario for the Shining Star guys. What do I do with all these superstars? LOL.

Yes, and the former DSAS 16s team that will be going over to Shining Star is the entire team. SS has about 30+ teams, so this will not effect any other SS team, there is one addition I hear, other than that it's the same team from last year.
