What adversity has LO had to overcome?

 

Losing in the championship game is adversity. The more you care the more it hurts. Great motivator for kids.

Overcoming "TRUE" adversity and living with regret are two different things. I'm sure their 4th qtr performance pains them a bunch, but that is not adversity, its just good old fashioned regret.

You're right, there's a difference there, but i think you're splitting hairs.

the adversity that i was refering to was the fact that the county schools will merge in two years and with the program just really getting to the level that the team wants it will be gone soon.....Not to mention the past two attempts at the championship game....More regret on the last one but still some adversity when the county no longer wants to fund a program that is winning because of future endevors..The booster club and boys have to work really hard to pay for almost everything right down to the uniforms,,,,,,Thats the adversity i was mentioning,,,,,,i dont pretend to know what other teams have to pay for or do but it seems like jere at least the county does very little in the way of funding and that comes from somebody in the know....

That situation is very common among county schools that have small budgets. Not so common among schools that have the number of players of Lone Oak, and that have been to the state finals twice in the last four years.

Actually twice in the last 3 years....And LO only dressed 50 kids on varsity...But yes i see a smaller school have to deal with this stuff,Not a 4A state runner up twice....
