Highlands 65 Cincinnati Shroder 57

Birds win a tough physical game on the road. Stephen Kowolnek had a great night scoring 29, Ben Watson had 15 and Jack Stewart 12 (including an impressive put back slam in the second half).

Nice win for the Birds on the road. Stephen K has been due for a breakout game.

I've never heard of Cincinnati Schroder. Is it a new school? How is their basketball program?

29 points is impressive. Congrats to Kowolnek.

It appears to be a newer school from the way it is constructed. It is a jump, hop and a skip from my employer in Madisonville off Red Bank Rd.

I hear they have a lot of athletic kids, not sure of how their record is or the success they have had.

I've lived in this area all my life. Lived in Cincy and NKY and even I have never heard of Cincinnati Schroder......got me there.

I believe Conner played them in football this past season.

SK played them. I believe they've been around for about a decade.

Thanks Neerfan, I knew I remembered seeing someone from NKY playing them.

Newport played them a couple times bout 5 or 6 years ago. They were not very good.

Shroder was a solid group and would give most teams in N. Ky. a tough game, Newport included. In particular, they had a 6'8" post player who was difficult to contain. Overall a quick and athletic group.

Schroder isn't a very good team. I'm actually very surprised they kept this game within 10.

They are currently 5-7 and haven't exactly been playing Cincy's best.

Have you seen them play?

Have you seen them play?

Haven't seen them play but spoke to a friend of mine who is familiar with the Schroder program from coaching football there. He says Holmes, Newport, Boone, and Newcath would all beat them by 10+ and they'd probably be on the bottom end of the top 10 here in nky.

Keep in mind I'm going off what I've heard though, so take it FWIW.
