With the new and revised top 10 teams list I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone's opinion on the top players in the 10th might be. There have been some new names to step up this year. Here are some I think have had a great year so far:

 

Zollo, Stenzel, Rogers and Daniels (GRC) Jolly (Campbell Co), Thomas (Harrison Co), Cooper and Monroe (Pendleton Co) King and King (Deming) Washington and Campbell (Nicholas) Reiger (Brossart) O'Conner and Smith (Scott) Prewitt and Crisp (Montgomery) Hamilton (Bracken) Setty and Gilbert (Mason Co)

Cory Rogers and Omar Prewitt has to be in the top 10 in the region IMO. Cory Rogers completely shut down Malcom Thomas last week. Held him to 3 points. Prewitt is very advanced to be just a Freshman. I really like the way he plays. Also don't see Avery Crisp not being in the top 10 either.

Good point on Rogers. Looking back, I'd swap Corey Rogers at the number 9 slot and drop Thomas down to honorable mention. Hard to argue head-to-head numbers like that :thumb:

Also, Neal Pawsat is without a doubt a top-10 player. He'll be one once he recovers from his injury and steps on the court.

I agree. It will take him awhile to adjust back from being off so long and the injury. We know from experience last year.

How about the Cooper kid from PC? He has been lighting it up lately. Also I would move the Rieger kid from Brossart up to top 4 players no qiestion.

I believe Zollo and Stenzel are almost interchangable, but went with Zollo as he seems to be really getting back from his injury and is improving every game.

 

Two boys who have entirely different roles. Zollo is 6'8" who has a good touch inside and out, rebounds well, blocks shots and plays with a lot of enthusiasm . Stenzel is 6'4"does a good job handling the ball, makes good passes, both entry or open court, shoots well and has good moves to the basket and usually draws the opponents best offensive player and makes good decisions. Very hard to compare the two.

Timmy Cooper can shoot the ball with anyone in the Region when he gets hot.

He had 31 points against Nicholas County monday, hitting eight three pointers, one shy of tying the school record. He followed up the next night with a 25-point game against Mason County. He was slow finding his shot early in the year, but he's dangerous when hot.

 

I want badly to put Rieger in the top 4 in the region. He is an absolute workhorse, and puts up numbers night in and night out. However, I can't put him ahead of Stenzel, Zollo, Setty or Jolly. He is a beast though.
