January 11, 201016 yr I disagree. Hoffman has pretty much been lights out his entire career. That's fine, but you didn't watch Gossage pitch. Had you, there is no way, shape or form you would look at Hoffman and say he is as good. The edge for Lee Arthur is a little less, but he was still more fearsome, from a hitter's standpoint.
January 11, 201016 yr You make some very valid points Jim, especially about Goosage, but I still have him as a lock. He may get in, but I think Hoffman will be waiting a while. Certainly a lot longer than Mariano Rivera.

I heard someone on ESPN the other day (maybe just after Dawson was elected) talking about Ivan Rodriguez. Said something to the effect that he currently looks like Twiggy compared to a few years ago.

That may be the sticking point as why he doesn't get in. Not sure if it's right, getting punished for where you play, but still.
