Did the Braves just wrap up a berth in the 2010 World Series ?

The key could be Jason Heyward.

I hope he does well.

I hope Glaus makes it through mid season and if he breaks down maybe then they give Freeman a shot.

Its not like they broke the bank to sign Glaus. He came pretty cheap.

He played 151 games with St. Louis 2 years ago, so its not like he can't make it through a season. And when he does make through most of a season, he does well. He hits for right around 30 homers, which is what the Braves need.

The signing definately has upside. If he's healthy he's still got some serious pop--and he wasn't overly expensive. I'm just not sure that I've have traded Vazquez to make payroll room for him given his injury risk. They've now got their entire season tied to a couple of injury-prone corner infielders. If they both stay healthy they have a chance to be in the playoff picture, if one or either gets hurt again--they could be in rebuild mode by midseason. It will be interesting to see how it goes.

They had to deal one pitcher and apparently they couldn't move Lowe without taking a huge chunk of his salary.

Glaus is a solid pick up IMO. I liked him in St. Louis. He got off to a slow start 2 years ago but he really picked it up. He straight up crushes the ball and can actually play some defense. I think if he can play 130 games this year for the Braves it will help them tremendously offensively.

It might work. Their injury histories doesn't make it likely but stranger things have happened.

Not very happy! I was hoping to see some huge deal and it's Hinske!

They didn't have enough money to sign anyone big. They're right around $90 million right now.

Won't know until the season comes, will we?

Coming from the guy who made fun of people for saying a 39 year old QB would make the Vikings better than the Giants... hmmmmm.

I guess a more civil answer would be.... to the question posed by the thread... no because the Phillies are still better.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with this topic.

BTW, I don't remember "making fun" of anyone. If I did, I was wrong.
